"From Flow Zen Electronic Zen Flows"

Flow Zen is Robert Myers alter ego, and I can’t speak to who or what Robert Myers is or isn’t, but Flow Zen is a blend of Electronica with hip hop and to a lesseer extent, house and techno.

“Silence” (featuring Jenny D.) is an stark and haunting at times. Then as Jenny D’s Voice lures you to place of tranquility, there is a full sampling maelstrom happening in the background. Manic and muzzy, it falls away as quickly as it came together.

“Why” with it’s staggered feel and hard fade ins feels like it’s telling it’s own story. This isn’t just a collection of beats and melody for mindless bodies to bop on a dance floor till daybreak. Like the best instrumentals, this is an epic composition, with internal conflict and ultimately suffering toward a resolution. The disparate and chaotic sounds give way to a pretty and obvious melody, but not before revisiting itself repeatedly.

“Killer DJ” (Original Mix) is the closest Flow Zen comes to a straight a head number on this disc. Upbeat, energized, it calls to mind, Herbie Hancock, “Rockit” while also hinting at, dare I say, “Axel F” and Jann Hammer’s commercial work. This makes it fun and accessible. This is the sort of number that could easily be picked up for a soundtrack and used somewhere.

“Aureal – Black Ice” (Flow Zen Remix) feels cobbled together with symphonic keyboards calling to mind Kraftwerk. This audio pastiche is jarring and impressivelly stitched to gether into a seamless pattern of keyboard melodies. This demands your attention for it’s uniqueness, and is memorable for it’s fluid prose.

Flow Zen is memorable fot the chances he stales and the effortless way he constructs dissimalr sounds into a cohesive audio quilt. Arty and accesible, this is Electronica for everyone. - M. Alberto Rivera of Indie Music

"Flow Zen, Assorted singles"

"With the Dub Step element as a foundation, the soundscapes achieved from the addition of live instrumentation, vocal additions and myriad beats creates an amalgam of styles and sounds that transcend a specific genre placement."

"Flow Zen’s touch does illustrate that the Dub genre doesn’t have to be a one-dimensional style and can be melded with adjoining facets to create something much bigger than just itself." - Christopher West from Skope Magazine
