FLOYDFLYGO’S STORY

With the hustle of a late 50 cent and the lyrical ability of hip hop icon T.I, Floyd aka “Flygo” brings a new style to music that could easily be put in its own genre alone. With the ability to animate crowds and conceive interest among many people he is destined for his shot at success.
Floyd aka Flygo had no idea what he was getting himself into when he decided to put the pen down from school and pick the pen up for music. With no name recognition by music lovers, no other plans for life, and close to no support from others, several hard choices needed to be made.
August 1st, 1987, Michael Ray Mcreynolds Jr., one of the greatest unheard artists of all time, was born. Music kept him happy as a child. It made him feel that life was good, although growing up was rough for him. Single-parent mom, supporting three children on her own, abusive step–father, and a father who was never around and never provided support or love for his own. Never in his life has he been stable and settled in one place. Seeing and experiencing childhood leaves stories ready to be told, pain wanting to be released on the wrong doings, and success ready to be shared.
At the age of 18 Floyd decided to sell marijuana. Fast money and observing family and friends living a fast life made him want it for himself. The hustle made him feel alive, not noticing or even thinking of the consequences. He got busted and it was either keep hustling and see potential jail time or make a way with the talent that God has blessed him with. Floyd chose music.
Originating from Kentucky sets him apart from the others. With him you get a taste of a smooth southern story teller, lyrical annihilator on tracks, laid-back-vibe-west coast-rider, retro pop, even r & b. There’s not one side of hop-hop that is not distilled within him. His style is indescribable; it depends on what the beat brings out in him. Floyd might as well be a chameleon because his music adapts to what the beat provides, all combined into a beast they call “Floyd” aka “Flygo.”
Seeing the way the music industry is today he learned labels aren’t just handing out record deals anymore. Artists have to pay to get themselves on the scene which requires funds that he didn’t have. Floyd joined the National Guard in desperation to provide money for his studio equipment, road trips and paying to perform in front of people who had no clue who he was. Eighteen to twenty hour days, seven days a week just was a living hell but he had to keep going. There were times when quitting was an option but couldn’t because of a dream that he was there to accomplish. He put himself in a position where he was willing to die for his country all to benefit and help pay for his opportunity in music. Crazy, huh! All his pain and struggle has made him into the man he is today. What is formed is a man who wants better for himself his family, friends, and his children.
Floyd just released his first mixtape, Up in Smoke, on February 23rd, 2009. He is currently traveling - doing shows where ever possible, doing features with various artists and shopping my demo to labels. He is also working on several projects including a ringtone deal and a full album.

It is his motivation that has kept him going and his passion that will allow him to never give up. He knows once he makes it in this business there is no stopping him!
