"Steffanie Christ'ian"

"A word from world renowned drummer Anton Fig,member of David Lettermans Late Night Band. Anyway That You Want Me: This is an older song of Chip's that I have always loved and wanted to do. A friend introduced me to Steffanie Christi'an, who at this point is an unknown young singer who sounds well beyond her years. Al Kooper, someone I listened to for ages and have recorded and played live with quite extensively, put his trademark organ on the song. Likewise Jimmy Vivino on guitar who is also a member of the Rekooperators band with Al. Duck Dunn, the incomparable bassist of Booker T and the MG's - a band I have fortunate to play with on many occasions, adds his distinctive style on bass. "

"Black Women Rock"

"Black Women Rock! Showcasing the Funk Excerpts from a review Posted by CommonBreath Media March 31, 2010 Steffanie Chris’tian tore up the auditorium with her band, ripping across the stage with a ferocity seldom seen in stiletto heels and fishnets. Her blues band held down the jam while she controlled the audience with a voice that screamed from her soul, stomping across the stage with attitude and an unabashed pride in her sexuality.”"

"Breaking the mold"

Artist Press Items
" A quote from "Breaking The Mold" What better way to spend an evening than celebrating a woman with similar attributes than to attend the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History's two-day music, art and poetry event, "Black Women Rock!: Tribute to Betty Davis," Saturday and Sunday. "Black Women Rock!" will feature women of color who believe in breaking out of the mold and ignoring stereotypes just as Davis did with her music in the '70s. Scheduled to perform at this tribute is punk/soul guitarist Tamar-kali, Imani Uzuri, performance painter Marcia Jones, rock/soul performer Steffanie Christi'an and poet, actress and playwright Jessica Care Moore. "Rock/soul artist Steffanie Christi'an says Davis is an influence for any woman who doesn't believe in adhering to the mainstream". "She was about taking chances" says Christi'an, of Detroit. "Betty just had this funky rock attitude that came out in her voice and music and you know she enjoyed herself." "
