FLY

Born in Sacramento, California, FLY DreamStar ended up in Austin, Texas via Kansas City, Missouri at age 12. While in school, writing poetry took up most of Fly’s time until age 15 when he wanted to rebel and earned a moniker for his dress, started fighting , which landed him in the Lighthouse Ranch for Boys, a Christian based camp in Loranger, Louisiana to avoid jail. However, Fly’s continued getting into trouble for fighting and getting kicked out of class before his mother got him into Christian rap and found he had a knack for it, which led to Fly to writing again and performing at churches. But trouble once again found him and Fly was stealing from his peers at school and got caught. But this time, Fly was faced with a judge's orders "to join the Army or go to jail" and chose to enlist into the army at 19 to improve his life. Before doing a tour in Iraq his father passed soon after losing his grandmother the previous year. Depressed by his family losses, Fly began started smoking the “chronic” and got kicked out of the Army with an “other than honorable” discharge and was placed on probation for a state felony charge. Finally, Fly made the decision to go straight and decided music would be better for him because he was unable to obtain a steady job due to his past.

Encouragement from people led him to a retire Army sergeant who started an independent label and management company and now is making the rounds promoting his debut release “Cloud 9”. Currently, Fly has over 25,000 views on YouTube and has sold 12,000 units while touring regionally letting the world hear what he had on his mind.
