Bio
JOSH THOMPSON
Josh Thompson knew when he first picked up the guitar at the age of 21, that his own unique view of life, and the simple honest, family values hed grown up with, had found a voice within him. He began absorbing and listening to the sounds of Merle Haggard, Jimmie Rodgers, and others. These musical influences came together and helped him create a new traditional country style all his own. On his breakthrough debut album Church Pews and Barstools, Thompson sings truthfully about hard times, romance and a whole lot of fun. On the first cut Bones by Now he admits Ive had some close call, outlaw, moments in my life and in Nothing Looks Great On You he captures a womans insecurity, with words of admiration and understanding. My favorite thing you wear is that soft and gentle smile, when I run my fingers through your hair. Since arriving in Nashville, Thompson has written with some of the best writers in town including, Brian Davis, Monty Holmes and Andi Zack, who co-wrote many of the tunes on his CD. I just want my songs to make a difference notes Thompson, adding I prefer letting my music do the talking
Now, With the release of his first CD: Church Pews and Barstools Josh Thompsons music is doing the talking, and the world is listening.
