Remember when rock rolled? You first caught a blast of a racket, you didn't know where it was going, but as the song turned each corner you were exhilarated. Flying Foxes cordially invite you back and then forward to the wild side.
After appearances on 3 continents with the likes of The Teenagers (France/UK), The Black Keys (USA), Who Made Who (Denmark), The Temper Trap and with 11 broken bones from a NYC taxi cab along the way, Flying Foxes are feverishly conjuring unworldly sounds for their debut album. You deserve to be surprised. Vinegar vignettes will channel charm and unrest upon a soundtrack that glides the glory of guitar into the 21st Century.
Flying Foxes tell tall stories spoilt with candour. Their fractured urban fairytales paint portraits of the joy and tears, swagger and fears, the comedy of errors, the cockeyed carers, the avian dancers, the clumsy romances. The bass buzzes. The beat moves your feet. Your guard retreats. The melody melts, guitar lines compete. You jump on your seat. Your night is complete.
In late 2008 Flying Foxes released their debut single, Lost In Low Cloud. Produced by Flying Foxes with Ned Cooke from Dappled Cities, this two and a half minute anthem was recorded and mixed by Scott Horscroft who mixed The Presets’ Apocalypso and The Panics’ Cruel Guards. The track was mastered in London by Nilesh Patel who was the man behind the desk for Bjork - Homogenic and Air - Moon Safari. In the wake of national airplay as Featured Artist for Triple J’s Unearthed, Lost In Low Cloud has been delighting radio programmers, reviewers, bloggers and fans of exciting music alike.
