"Flyjam- FlyJam"

This is a new Hungarian band and their debut 4 track EP (24mins). The band plays an interesting version of psychedelic space rock with female vocals. The CD begins with the instrumental track Deeper, which is an uptempo melodic space rock track with an intense synthesizer driving the track. It also features really nice melodic and spacey guitar. Next is Inner Space, a cool uptempo track which has cool Hidria like guitar and then the woman with a fantastic voice comes in. Sadly she just sings the same thing over and over and over but then she is not suppose to be the main focus of this space rock track. Exploration is probably the radio track. The singer she really is showcased in this track and it has a great psychedelic middle part. The last track, Born Again, is more laid back and spacey and also is heavily focused on the wonderful singing. Cool and interesting stuff…. Good future ahead if they don’t sell out! - From Aural Innovations #38 (Jan 2008)

Bio

The Budapest based FlyJam, formed in 2004, owing to their constant experimentation of new ways and ideas, by 2008, fuse psychedelic/space-rock, drum'n'bass and electro, inspired by the latest of hometown vibes and foreign tunes to give the hallmark of the 'Budapest underground'. Their tunes - though often instrumental - are more and more often accompanied by vocals, sometimes without lyrics, that give that extra depth and feel to their music.

Late August 2007. we finally started recording our first EP titled: Exploration (containing 4 songs). With little free time we managed to complete the tracks and self publish them in a small quantity for next event: at the ship A38, Budapest on 10th Sept 2007.
In January 2008, the first ever reviews on our work were published in psychedelic music mag Aural Innovations (USA) and lowcut.dk.
After that, FlyJam managed to get some great gigs together with Hungarian underground role models Brains and Colorstar and in March the band got invited to the Eurofest Music Fest in Sumperk (Czech Republic). In April our second EP: Paper Airplanes came out with 4 brand new tracks.
