Fly Lion was created in 2009 when Jim Gilchrist, Tim James and Sujit Nanda decided to join forces with singer/songwriter Tim Meils. Jim Gilchrist is also a fellow songwriter who performs and sings during the Tim Meils band set. The combination of these players has created a unique mix of alternative rock that is very diverse. Tim Meils often brings out his acoustic twelve string during the set giving yet another dynamic to their sound. The Fly Lion sound is one that catches the attention of the audience and sends them home with their melodies in their mind.
