"Friday Mourning: Make it Your Own"

Taken as a whole, Make It Your Own is a very solid rock album. It combines hard-rocking moments with emotional ones, always keeping things interesting. Filled with both intricate craftsmanship and catchy hooks, Friday Mourning provides an album that truly revs up the rock engine that adorns the album cover. - Lumen Vincens Magazine

"The Fest: 'Awesome' 22,000 revel in music, fun, Catholic faith"

On the main stage emerging 18-year-old Christian singer Krystal Meyers, the hard driving Sanctus Real, Steubenville’s Friday Mourning and Chapman kept thousands thinking about the positive message of being followers of Christ.

"Friday Mourning on a Thursday Night"

The crowd cheered like inmates of an insane asylum released into the world because of lack of state funding. Friday Mourning's producer described their new sound: "It's a lot tighter. They really came together as a band. It's a much gutsier sound."

- The Troubadour

"Rock'n'souls"

Friday Mourning, as these five Catholic students or recent graduates of nearby Franciscan University call themselves, is part of a growing movement that believes sacred music can take many forms. Bio

In the fall of 2002 began the journey that is Friday Mourning. Through many musicians and heartaches the band humbly came to fruition, stopping at every rest area along the way. What was a hobby of sorts quickly became a way of life in a matter of months.

Forsaking all, imbued with a calling, the five member band decided to start walking their journey, sharing the stage with national acts such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Switchfoot, Sanctus Real, Sonicflood, and Ceili Rain. From intimate music clubs to main stage festivals, the music has reached thousands of kids around the country.

It was in east Ohio, on the hilltop known as Franciscan University that Friday Mourning began to flourish. From there it was out to Steubenville, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, across central Florida, and even as far West as St. Louis.

Since its inception the band has enjoyed countless blessings, a broken down van, lots of debt, sleep deprivation, but most of all its incredible fans. Regardless of where the band is, it seems the crowds are always the main attraction. Their excitement is only surpassed by their involvement in the performance itself.

Shortly after coming together, the band was fortunate enough to record their first five song EP; "not there yet." With a motivational demeanor, this album spoke of hopes and dreams; of failures and triumphs.

Now enters the newest project, "Make It Your Own." The new album, just released, boasts of a greater love; a greater life; a greater purpose.

With a sound that echos musical influences, ranging from U2, Third Day, Relient K, and Jimmy Eat World, to Coheed and Cambria, Live, and BNL, this band gives an eclectic taste to an ever-wanting music industry. While the sound of this band can be considered sympathetic to any one of their influences, the attentive ear is sure to notice a whole new genre emerging in the sound that is Friday Mourning.
