focuspoint is an evolution of the early 90s Seattle sound. Heavily influenced by Nirvana, Silverchair and Tool, focuspoint plays singer/songwriter-organized, original songs in a straight-forward, hard rock fashion. No gimmicks here.

focuspoint is singer/guitarist Chris Watson, singer/guitarist Jeremy Olson, bassist Paolo Mottola and drummer Danny Woodward. The guys met while attending Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA and created the band in 2000. After a hiatus to pursue higher education in 2003, the band regrouped in 2005 and has since consistently played shows around Puget Sound.

In early 2007, the band entered the studio to record its first album, “Lost in the Sound.” The 18-track album features all original songs spanning he band’s seven-year history and kicks off with three strong singles, “Never Again,” “Sweet Release,” and “We Came Alive.” The singles represent the album’s themes of angst, heartache and restlessness.

After playing more than 20 shows in support of “Lost in the Sound” in 2007, the band went back into the studio in early 2008 to record the five track “Alright EP”. Inspired by early 90s grunge and alternative rock, the CD reflects influences of Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, Tool and Silverchair.

The “Alright EP” is available beginning
March 8, 2008.
