Bio

FOCUSPULLER began as a recording project initiated by singer/songwriter Marc Edwards and drummer/producer Chris Zigrovic. The two began by collaborating with a variety of other session musicians including guitarist Chris Gauthier and veteran bass/Chapman Stick player Fergus Marsh. These sessions were the genesis of an exciting new body of work that would eventually become the impetus behind the formation of a band.

Given his background in film, Edwards christened the project FOCUSPULLER; a name borrowed from a camera position on a film crew. The name also serves as a philosophical statement of sorts citing the band’s determination to focus on songwriting, artistic growth and musicianship over the all-too-pervasive image, attitude and trend-oriented focus present in today’s “music” industry.

Combining alt-rock impact with infectious hooks and ambitious musicianship, FOCUSPULLER has carved out a unique and identifiable musical signature. The band has performed live at some of Toronto’s most reputable clubs including the El Mocambo, The Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace and has evolved into a formidable live act with an ever- growing fanbase.

In September 2005, FOCUSPULLER was nominated for “Best Alternative Act” in the 2005 Toronto Independent Music Awards. The band plans to release its much anticipated EP entitled The Place We Discovered in Fall of 2005 to coincide with the awards ceremony. Live dates are currently being booked in support of the release.
