Recently, I have become more acquainted with the overwhelming talent abounding from aspiring soon-to-be famous musicians that lie in our midst. MySpace.com has been a godsend in this respect.
I have always admired people who just seem to know all the coolest, most interesting indie bands and have always wondered how they knew. Now I can finally be a part of this great phenomenon and in this article I want to talk about one band in particular.
FOIL, a San Diego rock band, has been performing for over five years and has enjoyed much success during this time. They have already achieved celebrity in their hometown, with performances bringing in loyal fans who eagerly attend and come with the greatest hope that they will get their personal copy of FOIL's album "13" signed by one of the band members: Sir Patrick Mack (lead vocals), Bob (Bass), I-Ball (Guitar) and Cal (Drums).
FOIL's music takes their fans by surprise with positive, uplifting, transcending song lyrics. The messages found in such songs like "I Awake" and "Beautiful Day to Die" appeals to people of all age ranges and backgrounds as well. This rock band has found the key to deeply and profoundly touching people of all ages.
THIS is what the greats have been able to accomplish. This is what great music is all about.
This is why FOIL is continuing to enjoy an upward move toward worldwide celebrity; a band that will, without a doubt be in the same company of U2, Pink Floyd, and the multitude other greats musicians that will always be a part of this great country's pride and culture.

FOIL emits a powerful , inspirational vibe and has been turning out melodic hard rock tunes since 2002. This powerful foursome delivers, time and time again, high energy , passionate rock shows with big hooks , tons of melody and uplifting vocals . Inspired by such great bands as Incubus, Tool and U2 , FOIL was born in San Diego, California.What started as a solo project turned into a rock band .
FOIL immediately caught the attention of Groove 33 Records and signed their first recording contract in 2003.With a slew of club shows and festivals already under their belts , FOIL began recording their debut album , “13” produced by Jeff Sers of Groove 33 Records .With the album finished , the band spent the next couple years playing countless shows across southern California. From the distinguished clubs of Hollywood like the Dragonfly , the Whiskey,City Walk Universal Studios, and The Roxy to the almighty House of Blues San Diego and the famous Del Mar fair. Six straight years rockin the Sandcastles Competition in Imperial Beach helped to bring the music to thousands, including the best fans of all, the kids. With release of the single “I Awake” came an award for “Best Male Songwriter of the Year” in the 2007 LA Music Awards.Foil is currently working on their second album "Essentials For Staging A Coup" as an independant release.
