Early History:

Longtime friends Gregory Henits (bass) and Chris Cerny (guitar) began sending musical ideas back and forth via email in late 2008. However, it wasn’t until Katharina Stenbeck put her unique melodies and vocals on this material that Otterclan was formed. Gregory and Katharina had first met while they were both studying acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan. It was through mutual friends at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts that they were introduced to Lelo Lourenzo (drums), who was working as a photographer and graphic designer. After an impromptu jam session that the four had together at a Halloween party, the lineup was complete and the band quickly became solidified. Since 2010, all members are living and working full-time in New York.

2010-present day:

Folding Legs spent 2010 refining their craft, playing New York’s underground music scene. They continually pack Manhattan and Brooklyn hot spots like Cameo’s, Pianos [1] and Arlene's Grocery, as well as multiple artist residencies at Pete's Candy Store. Outside of New York, the band has played The Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as some big venues in Europe, such as Flex in Vienna, Austria. The members are always busy collaborating with other artists on various projects around the globe, such as specific compositions for theatre and film. In the summer of 2010, Their video for the electronic remix of their song "Time of Your Life" was played on the music television channel GoTv in Austria, Switzerland and Germany under the name Otterclan.

The band is currently growing increasingly more popular on the underground scenes of Europe and the USA.
