Foli

Foli began as the songwriting outlet for singer and guitarist Ben McClintock after his time at Berklee College of Music. He enlisted some friends and recorded a full-length record called, "A La Maquina" that was released in the fall of 2013, and assembled a live act with drummer Cam Bateman (The Curs) and bassist Tom Smith (his fellow bandmate in SF group Social Studies). They spent the year of 2013 writing dynamic rock and roll songs and playing them up and down the west coast, sharing bills with acts like SUUNS and Bosnian Rainbows. They are currently preparing to record a follow up to "A La Maquina" that should come to light sometime in early 2014. They are a fiery, dynamic power trio that can range from heavy mellow grooves, to psychedelic dirges, to full-on rock and roll assault. The band is a treat for lovers of guitar driven rock music that is not beholden to any specific genre, but is not pastiche. It is authentic rock and roll that looks forward to the future of the dialectic, while understanding what has come before.
