FRESH, aka Cody Parr, born in small town Oregon, discovered his passion for Hip Hop music at 12 years old when he sat down with his uncles and heard 2 Pac for the first time. After 7 years of crafting his lyrical ability, finding strong influences from talents like Will Smith & Eminem, & Michael Jackson, FRESH committed to making this once hobby his career. At 20 he moved to Los Angeles and almost immediately received a buzz with his unique stage presence and debut “The Closet Mic Mix Tape.” Fresh quickly followed that with “Unusual Suspect,” featuring the release of his first radio single “After Party.” Capturing the attention of many independent & major record labels, FRESH was invited to compete in the Sheikh Music "Rip The Mic" Contest, sponsored by Reebok and Def Jam Recordings. In the two years of the competition, FRESH is the only repeating artist to be selected both times as one of the Top 10 Best Hip Hop Recording Artists, representing Los Angeles; finishing 3rd both times. In 2010 Fresh won 2 Rising Star Music Awards for Artist of the Year and Best Rapper, as well as nominated for Best Rapper and Won Best Music Video at the Industry World Appreciation Awards later that year. FRESH is set to realease two projects simultaneously, his much anticipated mix tape “Light Up The Darkness” & his EP “Substance Abuse.” His music has also launched FRESH into an exciting acting career as he was awarded two leading roles in television pilots featuring his music & peotry that garnished him two consecutive best actor nominations at the New York Film Festival. Following his nominations & awards, and also landing a leading role in a major independent film featuring his music, FRESH is well on his way to building a career bridging the talents of his two industry role models.
