Bio

About FONKSQUISH:

Fonksquish is a Parliament / Funkadelic styled outfit, first assembled in Denver in 1998. In 2005, Fonksquish includes the talents of these fine talented Philly funksters:

Brandon Meyer - Guitars
Dan Reinherz - Keys, Vocals
Jeremy Kashuba - Guitar
Jason Fifield - Bass and Thangs, Vocals
Dan Kennedy - Bass
Maria Grisof - Vocals and Thangs
Jamie Misocoki - Vocals, Violins, Keys, Thangs

Chuck Da Fonk Fishman is the vocalist, dancer, and keyboard player behind the initial push to get Fonksquish on the Philly scene. But fONKSQUISh, as we say it, has expanded and evolved into a group of dynamic individual funky multinstrumentalists who are collaborating on the deepest of grooves. fONKSQUISh band mates are now holed up in the studio working on original funk material. MEMBER BIOS:

** Dan Reinherz **

Multinstrumentalist, Producer, Music Teacher, Serious Funk Keyboardist, Drummer, wow .. Dan can hook it all up - he's the funky miracles worker. He also runs the Center City based Imageanation Recording studios. He's capabale of all styles - now we love the funk - but Dan can easily flip it to bluegrass.

** Jason Fifield **

In addition to playing laptop and percussion, rapping and signing with Fonksquish, Jason Fifield is also an upright bassist with The Adrian Mowry Band, Redford, and Continuum. He has performed with Philly native G. Love, as well as Joe Russo of "The Duo", and has studied bass with former BB King bassist Big Pete Pearson. Jason has shared billing with the Funky Meters, Charlie Hunter, Robert Bradley and Parliament, among many others. He has scored short films, a chapter of an audio book, produced several indie records, and has appeared on MTV, CBS and the Discovery Channel. "Fife" resides in Philadelphia with his wife, baby boy and their cat, Muse.

** Brandon Meyer **

Brandon Meyer is a guitarist, songwriter, and producer based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Although primarily self-taught, he was formally trained by accomplished New York-based Flamenco guitarist Linda Chellouf, and has also studied with Philadelphia-area guitarists Michael Sipone and Michael Brodine. He currently plays in a couple of Philadelphia and New York-based projects, including the Philadelphia funk group Fonksquish, and New York's own electro-rockers The Bam Sequence. He devotes most of his time to composing and songwriting, while also having credits as a film scorer, on the Independent Short "Default Setting."

** Chuck Da Fonk **

FUNK MUSICIAN Chuck Da Fonk hails from Philadelphia, and he cultivated a love for funk music as a kid in the early 1980's when funk artists repeatedly crossed with popular new wave bands (for instance, Talking Heads had P-Funk members in their band, George Clinton worked with Thomas Dolby). Liking the funk he heard in that new wave, Chuck then furiously studied the music of James Brown, Parliament / Funkadelic (P-Funk), and Sly Stone and he became known as da Fonk by his friends because of his funkstudious nature. Chuck loves to dance, sing, and funk on out on keyboards, basses, guitars and over the years he's consistently proven that he?s a funk tour de force. This trait lead to Chuck joining George Clinton and P-Funk All Stars for several tours in the mid to late 1990'ss, adding his funk in with George's son TreyLewd and also with founding Funkadelic member, and Rock N Roll Hall Fame Inductee, Billy Bass Nelson. The result of the touring and the collaborations was Chuck'ss 1997 debut CD, "The Squishy Declaration". This CD also has appearances from artists in Chuck's home base at the time Colorado - including Zuba, Sherri Jackson, and the first incarnation of Fonksquish. After the release of "Squishy", Chuck worked in Denver and San Francisco, with his live funk bands, Fonksquish and The Mile High Funkers. Chuck also sings on a track on funk bass guru Bootsy Collins' 1998 CD, "Fresh Outta P University". Chuck is truly one of Philly's most unique artists and in 2004, Chuck returned to his childhood roots in Center City Philadelphia. He's currently recording new material with his partners in Fonksquish and Richard Kush Griffith, trumpeter and music arranger who served under both George Clinton and James Brown since the 1960's.. And East Coast P-Funk concert goers likely get to see Chuck up on stage a couple of times a year.
