Foot of the Hill

BandAmericanaRock

Foot of the Hill is a fresh, specialized blend of roots music. We take bluegrass, old-time, country blues, jug-band, and rock and roll, mash them together, and serve it all on a heaping platter of boisterous, raucous energy seasoned with just the right amount of twang and attitude.

Biography

We combine a high-energy performance with the tonal clarity of American acoustic music to produce original songs appealing to any listening audience. The distinctiveness of our music originates from the diverse background of each individual member.
Clay 'Red rooster' Wisner, lead vocalist and guitar, was born in Mt. Hebron, AL. He got his start in the music business playing organ in a rock band, but gravitated toward old-time music as it coincided with his collegiate studies and upbringing. He likes every type of music.
Al 'Boogie' Babcock, upright bassist and the newest addition to the band, comes from Albertville, AL. Boogie's musical tastes lie mainly in rock and roll. Some of his influences include Little Feat, The Band, and The Rolling Stones.
David 'Ace' Nelson, vocalist and banjo, was born in Gadsden, AL. His tastes and influences include Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, John Hartford, and Van Morrison.
