"'FORBIDDEN DREAM' (INDEPENDENT)"

FORBIDDEN DREAM is a Canadian band and they sent me their 3-track EP. The band is playing high quality progressive melodic rock, comparable to 7 MONTHS and TOXIC SMILE. All 3 included tracks on their debut EP are very impressive. Opener "This side of hell" is a great progressive melodic rocker, while next track "Running with angels" is a great progressive AOR song (and also the best song). Closing track "Never see me cry" is a good powerful melodic rockballad. FORBIDDEN DREAM is yet another unsigned high-quality progressive melodic rockband. Give this band a chance, because they deserve it to get a lot of attention!

"FORBIDDEN DREAM"

Chiude la power ballad "Never See Me Cry", classico pezzo da classifica fatto per i piĆ¹ romanticoni. Bravi!

Bio

Now here's an up-and-coming group that will give listeners a great feeling of fun and excitement: Forbidden Dream. This electrifying five-piece ensemble blends traditional rock n' roll with progressive rock and metal with outstanding results. Formed in 1997, this Ottawa based band is greatly influenced by many great modern acts such as Bon Jovi and Dream Theater, as well as classic groups such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and C.C.R. The musical influences of the band members include (but are not limited to) pop, metal, country, blues, jass, latin, funk and classical. By combining these diverse influences, the musicians have successfully created a sound of their own.

And with their signature sound, the band takes to the stage and gives quality performance that is both tight and outrageously fun at the same time. The band is always prepared to give the audience pure entertainment.

Forbidden Dream has just released their first full length album entitled "Slightly Out Of Frame". The album is a solid collection of dynamic original music by the band. The album is professionally recorded and mastered and very much captures the intensity and passion that the band puts into their music. Beginning with their own progressive hard rock anthem "Welcome to the World", the album takes the listener on a journey through lively rock, slick blues, and soaring ballads among other surprises. The band plans to promote their new album by doing live appearances on different TV shows, performing in several venues in Ottawa and beyond.

In 2001, Forbidden Dream released their first EP which contains 3 powerful original songs that demonstrate the band's great musical and songwriting abilities. To promote the CD, the band has been steadily giving vibrand live performances at several venues in Ottawa (such as Barrymore's and Zaphod Beeblebrox) and the surrounding area. The band even made a live appearance on the television program "Breakfast @ The New RO" in March 2002 to promote the CD. Forbidden Dream was also a features band at the Capital Music Conference in July 2001.

In addition to their own CDs, Forbidden Dream has also appeared on three compilation CDs. The most recent compilation is an Enufh Z'Nuff tribute album which has just been released. The band recorded and submitted a song originally written by Enuff Z'Nuff entitled "5 Smiles Away". Forbidden Dream was thrilled to be selected among many bands to participate in this compilation CD. In 2003, the band saw one of their songs "Running with Angels" being accepted for the Ottawa Indie Vibe compilation CD which was distributed at the 2003 Juno Awards. The first compilation that Forbidden Dream took part of was the Indie Buzz CMC 2001 Compilation CD which features the song "This Side of Hell".

The band has attracted some attention internationally as well. The band's 3-Song EP has been reviewed by the Italian magazine Slam! Party Rock 'Zine and the Holland magazine Strutter'Zine.

"Forbidden Dream is yet another unsigned gigh-quality progressive melodic rock band. Give this band a chance, they deserve to get a lot of attention!" Quoted for Strutter'zine.
