Bio
forBrothers is Shaant Shishmanian, Aram Shishmanian, Ben Marino, and Cole Marino. They are hometown friends born, raised, and currently living in Allendale, NJ. Ben, Shaant, and Aram were in the same grade from 1st through 12th grade, living on the same block most of those years. The brothers grew up singing and playing in school bands, family, and church functions.
The two sets of brothers first performed together at the wedding of Ben and Cole’s sister in December 2013. At the request of the bride, they performed “High Hills,” an original song that Shaant had written years earlier. Family and friends alike decided that something had to be done about the sound and chemistry that so naturally came together between the brothers. forBrothers was formed in the summer of 2014. Writing, recording and performing began.
Partnering with Indiegogo, the band set out to raise funds for a professionally recorded, self-produced, full-length album. Thanks to the incredible support of fans and friends across the globe, their goal of $16,500 was met over the course of a 60-day campaign.
On July 7, 2015, forBrothers released their first single, “Josephine,” accompanied by a lyric video up on YouTube. Soon after on July 24th, their debut album “FOOL” was released.
Since then, the band has performed to crowds of up to 1,000+, worked alongside major organizations such as The Salvation Army USA, Urban Kingdom, and GBIMC, and has shared the stage with Phil Keaggy, Sleepy Man, decker., C. Gibbs, and Victory Dance (ex Fancy Reagan), among others.
Their music could be described as a modern blend of Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young vocals with a touch of over-driven guitar and melodic bass lines; or quite simply, folk on steroids.
