"New Wave is Back!", says Multi-Platinum music producer FORD, who has made a nice career producing and mixing records for the biggest stars in the world.
For 15 years FORD has been on the cutting edge of music production bridging the gap between underground electronic music and mainstream artists. "Preferred music styles run in cycles and the timing couldn't be more perfect to re-introduce the slick gothic-electro sound reminiscent of early 80's New Wave artists like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bauhaus, U2, New Order, The Cult and others." FORD’s highly anticipated new album "Psychonaut", due at retail outlets around March 2010, is a totally astounding reinvention of the classic early 1980's sound with a very fresh Electro twist.
This is the first solo album of FORD's career. Over the years, FORD has developed countless dance artists scoring 7 Billboard Top Ten Dance Hits with 4 different artists, and he has produced countless other productions and remixes for the likes of Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, Jewel, Rob Thomas, iiO, Natasha Bedingfiled, Ciara, Craig David, Ludacris, Twista and many others. With 19 Gold & Platinum Record plaques hanging on the wall and 13 million unit sales notched into his score card, FORD is ready to try something new and this solo project is it. "The truth is I'm turning 40 this year, way too old in the eyes of the music industry, but I don't really care. This is the best music I have ever written or produced, this is my Magnum Opus."
Aside from the lush melodic sound and mood that would make any Depeche Mode fan weak at the knees, what makes this album particularly unique is the subject of its lyrics. In 2005-2006, FORD took a hiatus from the music industry to write and publish a book on higher consciousness and self-realization, a subject at the heart of FORD’s life. This real life guru has become well known in the circles of expanded consciousness and enlightenment, and his book, Becoming God is seeing the same success as his music releases (at one time reaching the #2 position on the Lulu Best Seller list). "After publishing the book, I really didn't know what I wanted to do. The logical next move was to combine my too favorite loves together, New Wave 80s music and the topic of conversation that we all secretly love to ponder. It was simply the law of attraction that moved me into a universe where 80’s music was making a huge comeback." The lyrics of all of FORD’s songs are philosophically deep and thought provoking. Their meaning seems to unfold to a deeper level with every listen.
FORD has put a three-piece band together to introduce this sound to mainstream and dance club-goers in a psychedelic wonderland setting. In addition, since the
band has an overall “Electro-New Wave” vibe, Rock venues will happily embrace this very electro sound as well. This truly is the convergence of Rock, New Wave, Pop, and Dance Music together as one. "I've never had so much fun in my life. I feel like a kid again staying up all night rockin' out and programming weird cool sounds along with my original band mates from college. To have this music as the beacon for a such a divine subject is ridiculous, but it sure is fun!"
