"The Perfect Crime album review"

Foresight for the Blind formed in 2005 in Toronto, Ontario, and comprises singer/guitarist Brandon Anderson, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Mike Tredree, bassist Shawn Daley, and drummer Troy Geoghegan. The Perfect Crime tells a story from start to finish with seamless flowing between tracks. This is the band's first album outside of their EP Beware of the Light, and showcases how much thought and time went into making a truly unique record.

Foresight for the Blind's The Perfect Crime brings you back to the black and white film era with some wonderful intros, catchy lyrics, and awesome guitar solos. Singer Brandon Anderson has a wide range and brings a touch of screamo into the otherwise smooth vocals throughout the album. The Prefect Crime feels very conceptual telling a wonderful story both lyrically and emotionally as you make your way from “The Memoirs of a Thought Criminal” to “The Murder Dance.” Many of the tracks contain spoken word intro's and outro's from older films which brings a soft, classy feel to the songs and to the album as a whole.

“Dawn of a New Age” showcases the band grungier side with choppy riffs, heavy drums, and loud raspy vocals. Truly showing some of the band’s range and talent, they follow it with “Murder of the Real,” which moves towards a more acoustic feel. In this track, they integrate spoken dialogue about the perfect murder near the end of the track, and follow it with a very touching musical outro.

“Degrees of Freedom” opens with a well composed hi-hat line, and moves into darker, melodic verses. “The Murder Dance” brings in a very welcomed swing vibe, and some big band brass for backup. It's a short track, but an excellent ending to a fun and unique album.
