Bio

Forestears formed back in 2009 originally as an acoustic double act through a shared love of stripped back rustic sounds such as Nick Drake, Neil Young and in contrast to this; Radiohead and Elbow.
In the fall of the same year a fully fledged band had emerged from an initial 2 hour rehearsal, quickly followed by their first gig within a matter of hours later.
This transition brought the band out of their comfort zone of a subtle, gentle but limited sound into something which transformed itself into a vast array of energies, diverse influences and ideas.
This transition is what Forestears are known for today, as well as a killer horn section supplying the "stuck in my head" melodies, catchy rhythms and soaring vocals, delivering what Live & Loud said is "the most idiosyncratic fusion of latina jazz, lo-fi acoustic garage indie and a grab-bag of other musical genres".
Their passion and excitement for what they do has propelled them forward in the past two years, playing various venues across the south coast of England and within their hometown of Brighton, raking in praise from legions of new fans and plaudits.
The New Ep, "Fountainhead" is set for release on 13th February 2012 with a UK tour to follow
