Bio
The band's name is derived from Matthew 18:3 in reference to the fact we all must become as children and live "Forever Young" with Christ as we strive to reach so many who have lost that childhood innocence. Currently, Forever Young is working on their next CD release with producer Matt Arcaini. The band's first self-titled CD was produced with worship leader and former frontman of Sonic Flood - Jeff Deyo.
Forever Young was started back in 1997, during a revival at a small back roads church in Kokomo Indiana. Lead singer Brandon Trlak heard the call for this ministry just shortly after becoming a Christian. His heart’s desire had always been in music and now he believed that all the previous years of studying and practicing music had been in preparation for this. He sought God’s face and heard that it was time to restore innocence back into the souls of men; an innocence only given by forgiveness and grace that can only be given by Jesus Christ.
He began writing music with an almost dark overtone, a music that made the listener realize the world’s desperate need for a savior. His songs poured out with emotion from his personal life experiences and how he as a desperate man, found forgiveness and restoration.
In 2002 Brandon met Jeff Deyo, former lead singer of Sonicflood, who helped Brandon form and discover the true vision of Forever Young. Jeff has now been the group’s producer and mentor for 5 years. They, together have been working towards a full album release due out in 2008, and have been preparing the ministry to go out to all the world teaching about Jesus and His undying love.
Forever Young’s influences include David Crowder, Creed, Jeremy Camp, Jeff Deyo, Spoken, Nickel Back, Stryper, Alter bridge, Mae, Cold Play, Incubus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Audio Adrenaline, MuteMath, John Mayer, Mercy Me, as well as a long list of 80s and classic rock guitarists.
