Forget Failing
“Disasterpiece is a Masterpiece”

Forget Failing is a three piece Cleveland-based band who has recently released their debut EP titled “Disasterpiece.” The trio has been relentless in their efforts to promote the EP. Singer and guitarist Jeff Dunay was kind enough to provide me with a copy, and the album title “Disasterpiece” seems to have a bit of a sarcastic element to it, as I would have to give the EP an excellent review and wonder
why the band did not opt to call it Masterpiece. In addition to Jeff Dunay on vocals and guitar, Forget Failing consists of Matt Chase on bass and backing vocals and Adam Cerutti on drums. Jeff and Matt originally started the band as a power acoustic duo in the summer of 2007. Forget Failing cut their teeth when a mutual friend called and asked the duo to open for his band for several tour
dates throughout the Midwest. This prompted the pair to seek out a drummer and they asked Mikey Georgalis to join the band. This changed the dynamic of the group greatly, and Forget Failing was off and running. Mikey Georgalis left the band in June of 2008 to pursue other opportunities, and Jeff and Matt promptly filled the vacant spot with Adam Cerutti’s hard hitting drum techniques. The trio immediately began to get gigs at venues like Peabodys, the Agora, and local stages all around the Cleveland area. Forget Failing has since made a name for themselves with their poetic, optimistic lyrics and signature sound. The band name itself, Forget Failing, rolls very nicely off the tongue and tends to bring about a feeling of accomplishment. Forget Failing indeed. Failing is not an option. And the lyrics on the EP “Disasterpiece” prove that this is a motto that the band not only plays by, but lives by as well. Forget Failing is asking their many fans to help them promote their EP “Disasterpiece” by calling local radio stations and requesting theirv songs. Originally a power acoustic duo, Forget Failing was started by childhood friends Matty Chase and Jeff Dunay in the early summer of 2007. A phone call from mutual friend Vekstar asking them to open a few dates on his Midwest tour got them to start looking for a drummer so they could take their music to the next level. Mikey Georgalis would join the group with his hard rocking style and they were never the same. The Independence based melodic rock trio started making their way in the Cleveland music scene rocking venues such as Peabody’s and the Agora as well as local stages around Parma, playing to anyone that would listen to their poetic lyrics and calculated sound.

In 2008 The Boys of Indy would team up with Vekstar once again, but this time to record their EP “We Catch Fire”. In their short time together, Forget Failing has been able to leave their finger prints on the Cleveland music scene and quickly reach audiences across the country. In June 2008 Mikey would leave the band to pursue other interests and Adam Cerutti would step in behind the kit to add his flavor to the group. Today, Forget Failing is a recognizable force in Cleveland and is ready and fired up for whatever lays ahead.
