Feeling a bit camera shy

Forgotten Day has been rocking out and growing in the local scene over the last 3 ½ years. Originally named Error they formed in the summer of 2002. Tyler Hickey- lead vox, guitar and Jimmy Smariga- drums came together after discovering a common passion for creating and playing music. Craig Sossi was the original second guitar in the band but due to family complications has been forced to hang up his axe. He has been replaced by the very talented Matt Farzin. The band also went through many changes in bass players before returning to the original, Matt Laiti, who has been rocking with Forgotten Day for a year and a half.

Forgotten Day has played many shows over the last three years. They have competed in several battle of the bands winning the 2003 Stone Bridge High School battle, winning the Ashburn Village fest battle of the bands, and placing second and third in two others. They have played numerous other shows, including basement shows that were entirely set up and run by the Forgotten Day crew. These shows attendance ranged from 75- 200 people and have brought in an accumulated total of approximately $2000+. Forgotten Day has played through out the Northern VA/DC area.

The bands music is unique to the emo-style. The band influences vary greatly between the different members. The early influences ranged from rap to punk to ska, and they ended up in the emo category. Their main influences are those like Hidden in Plain View, Senses Fail, Matchbook Romance, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, The Early November, Finch, Blink 182, Story of the year, Brand New, Underoath, The Used, and Emery. The band recorded at Stage Right Studios in Vienna the summer of 2004. They released a 5 song demo that quickly spread around their local town. In the summer of 2005 they returned to the studio and recorded their 7 song EP, "Goodbye for the Last Time."

The band is currently working on promoting their EP, throughtout the area. In January they will be headed for Mont Tremblant, Quebec to open for the Hips and Lips Tour. Then headed back into the studio in late spring, followed by a 3 week east coast tour in early summer.
