Forgotten Discipline

Forgotten Discipline

BandAlternativeRock

Forgotten Discipline is the brainchild of lead singer Bishop Christopher & lead guitarist Lex McLelland. We have very similar, yet very different approaches to our music, so we expect the end result will be a very interesting, unique, and original work.

Biography

Other than the songwriting of our music, one of the key elements that makes our music truly cosmopolitan in spirit is the melding of several influences from each of our members into one unique and original work. Bishop's songwriting and imaginative composing, along with Lex and Justin's punk influence combine both styles seamlessly. Eclectic bassist Brian's melodic lines complete the package, exploiting the obvious alternative rock type genre. Influences include: Radiohead, Yellowcard, Smashing Pumpkins.

Introduction of Characters (Intro)
Waking next to me..displace the comfort of her dreams
She quickly doubts herself
Saying “It’s not him...”

Him (Verse 1)
He pretends that she
Is just a friend, no more than that
He still makes excuses for
His circumstantial bashfulness
Only if he’d been there
For her earlier...
He’d belong to her

Him (Chorus 1)
If he’d put his arms around her
Everything would be like it should
And he wouldn’t have to hide himself
Revealing the light, and never ashamed
And never again, to leave this
Unsaid
When he puts his arms around her
Everything is not like it should
All that remains is second-hand love
Forever guilty, under this spell
Again, and again
To leave this
Unsaid

Her (Verse 2)
Confusion settles in
When she denies all these strange yet familiar
Feelings..
While I bathe myself into selfish dreams
Like before you knew me
Was it too late then?
Even then?

Her (Chorus 2)
If she’d put her arms around him
Everything would be like it should
But everything is broken
And she wouldn’t have to pretend
That she’d promised herself to leave this
Unsaid
When she puts her arms around him
Everything is not like it should
Instead there’s mock happiness
Always forsaken, never alone
And always too late
To leave this
Unsaid
The lament of those in denial (Bridge)
No....

Me (End Chorus)
If I’d put my arms around her
Everything would seem like it should
Or did I just not care enough
Willing to blame, not willing to fight
I can’t believe
I left this
Unsaid...
Now my arms are all around her
Loving her is just like it should
Now it’s always worth the effort
And I love her enough to always prove
I promise
To never leave this
Unsaid.

Hopeless Case

Written By: Forgotten Discipline

Title: Hopeless Case
Artist: Forgotten Discipline
Album: Reveille Moon
Genre: Alternative Rock

Verse 1
Look at me I am so
Completely absorbed and unaware of you
Remember when our touch
Then meant so much
To the both of us...
But now it’s spiteful and it’s empty
In my own self-pity
What now is you and now not about me
Is all that I can cling to...

Chorus
And when you bring me down on the inside
Your here and your there and you leave
And then you bring me down on the outside
When you take what you can from me

Verse 2
How good and cursed it is to
Be so masochistically involved with you
I love and hate how
I help you and
You worry while you wait...
This jealousy has almost consumed me
And choked all reason
Frustration mounts as I soon realize
That you will NEVER
Let him go...

Chorus x 2

Outro
Why do you?
Why do you?
Why do you, you, why you?
Why do you?
Why do you?
Why do you, you, you?
Bring me down....
Bring me down....
Why do you bring me down
With you....?

Ordinary Day

Written By: Forgotten Discipline

Title: Ordinary Day
Artist: Forgotten Discipline
Album: Reveille Moon
Genre: Alternative Rock

Verse 1
An ordinary day
Still I’m stuck in the same year
Lost in every way; just how long have I been here?
If I could stop for a while, and start again with no regrets
If I could stop for a while...
If I’d just stop for a while

Chorus
But I can not leave, when all these things I’ve seen
All but turns to gray
So I’m stuck down here, in this small town forever
To watch it fade away

Verse 2
An ordinary day
Has it just been seven years?
Remembering every way; of glory days that I spent here
Why should I stop for a while, when it hurts to go back there?
If I’d just stop for a while...
I shouldn’t stop for a while

Chorus

Bridge
I can’t just walk away
But it pains me when I stay
I love you all the same...
If you could come with me
We could all just stay together
But I guess this is the end...

Verse 3
An ordinary day
The same old summer, another year
Forgotten every way; of how to live anywhere but here
I shouldn’t stop for a while, but I’m too old to live my dreams
Should I just stop for a while?
I think I’ll stop for a while

End Chorus
Because I can not leave, when all these things I’ve seen
All but turns to gray
So I’m stuck down here, in this small town forever
While I just fade away....

Scratch

Written By: Forgotten Discipline

Title: Scratch
Artist: Forgotten Discipline
Album: Reveille Moon
Genre: Alternative Rock

Verse 1
She’s...moving on today
It’s cold and I’m so lonely
Familiar and so
Free...
And I, care for no one
She is just a curse
I love although I hurt

Chorus
The truth, or a lie
She says that she is sorry
I say it’s not that bad
You see it’s just a scratch

Verse 2
And I...wake each day
With no purpose or meaning
Alone and cold and
Torn...
She..thinks I’m fine
But when I think of her face
It makes me want to die
When I lie..

Chorus

Outro
Scratch me once and
Scratch me twice again
You know nothing of shame
You can’t hurt me again
You don’t have to pretend...
Pretend that you care
Because
It’s just a
Scratch
