"December 04"

Verdict: The last time we heard of a band trying to put South Africa on the rock map it was Seether - and look how well they didn't do. Fresh-faced trio Forgotten Youth at least know to keep the grunge influences to a minimum, and put their own hyperactive twist to Cobain's riffery during highpoint 'Timmy Red Revolver'. 'Get Down' is bound to be picked as the radio hit, but veers too close to Steriogram for comfort. It's a shame, because when they concentrate on emulating the darker side of the American punk rock phenomenon they show some real promise. Check 'Pyromania' for some primitive Used-style craziness. 7/10. Rock Sound Magazine, December 2004. - Rock Sound

Bio

Forgotten Youth are a London based power punk trio fresh on the capital’s vibrant rock scene. Originally from South Africa, the band re-located to London in 2004 to seek bigger and bolder horizons.

Check out some of the rough pre-produciton demos for their new album scheduled for completion in January 2006

Despite having an average age of just 21 years, this unsigned group have racked up an impressive list of achievements:

·Two No. 1 songs on Barney Simon’s “Powerzone Top 40” on leading South African Radio Station 5FM (for songs “Losing Out” and “Boy vs. Girl”)

·Track on Fat Wreck Chords “Family Business” compilation

·Released single “Losing Out” on Sony Music (South Africa)

·Tracks on Session Magazine’s Skate Video, Blunt Magazine’s Skate Video, as well as a S.A. Extreme Sports video

·Played to crowds of over 35,000 at South Africa’s biggest festivals including Woodstock 3, The Rock Show and Splashy Fen

·Appearing on Eastpak’s ProPunkRocker 4 compilation (for GAS) being released by Side One Dummy Records in spring 2005

Forgotten Youth deliver killer tunes that conjure up the darker side of the American punk rock phenomenon with an incredible live show that evokes some primitive “Used” style craziness and creates an instant connection with the new generation of punk rock fans.

Now firmly rooted in London and under new management, Forgotten Youth are poised to bring their edgy, youthful sound to a larger international audience.
