The best kept secret in music

Verdict: The last time we heard of a band trying to put South Africa on the rock map it was Seether - and look how well they didn't do. Fresh-faced trio Forgotten Youth at least know to keep the grunge influences to a minimum, and put their own hyperactive twist to Cobain's riffery during highpoint 'Timmy Red Revolver'. 'Get Down' is bound to be picked as the radio hit, but veers too close to Steriogram for comfort. It's a shame, because when they concentrate on emulating the darker side of the American punk rock phenomenon they show some real promise. Check 'Pyromania' for some primitive Used-style craziness. 7/10. Rock Sound Magazine, December 2004. - Rock Sound
