SO MANY PROBLEMS album review by Ricky O'Shea from Miramichi- "Practical Academics, with this album, have no doubt established a solid foundation to grow on. With more albums like this one, they should be on the Canadian underground scene for sometime to come. Each track has it's own distinct and unique sound and theme, which is something that should be appreciated especially considering the state of mainsream hip-hop today. This is a great introduction to this group, with originality to boot (see "Static" and "Let People Follow Me"). A job well done no doubt."

Bio

Practical Academics is an original sounding underground hip-hop duo from Canada’s birthplace, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. With Rob Banks on the beats and production and Bill Dozer with his one of a kind voice and rhyme and skill, the group formed in 2002. In early 2003, they finished their first release “So Many Problems”, a 9-track EP, with Criminal Records (www.criminalunderground.com). Not long after, in 2004, they dropped another small project called “Can’t Wake Up”. Classifying themselves as Garage Rap and influenced by "good hip-hop, Johnny Cash and 80's hair-bands", both are focused on other side-projects and shows as well, usually performing beside The Trip (Tech Thai and Eric Broadbent). In September 2005, Practical Academics went on tour across the Maritimes with Touch, Epic & FattMatt. That went very well. This year they received a nomination for 2006 Rap/Hip-Hop single of the Year for their song "Eddie", an ode to P.E.I., which can be heard on their new self-titled, full-length release. Besides their upcoming CD, recently, Rob has been producing beats for a number of different artists (Dirty Crew) and Bill is currently working on his solo release (Staticwires/Criminal records).
