‘You Don’t Get Me’ is the statement debut single from Forstory, marking the beginning of a number of releases to come over the following weeks. Powerful and dynamic vocals are backed by captivating drum fills and funky guitars. The poignant and flowing melody is complimented beautifully by a seamless mix of sax and crafted electronic tones which build intensely to a great final chorus that showcases the cascading lead vocals in all their vitality and strength. - Purple Melon

"Local Bands You Need To Listen To"

Even though they're relatively fresh on the scene, Forstory sounds like they've been making music together forever. Sydney Frank (vocals/guitar/keys), Michael Slonim (drums), Cole Chavez (guitar), Gordon Housman (bass), and Drew Montgomery (saxophone) are coming up with some great indie pop rock. It's dancy, it's catchy, and if you listen closely, you'll catch they cool post-production work they put into their tunes. "Make Me Cry" is 80s as hell, if 80s synths were angsty teenagers, while "You Don't Get Me" sounds nearly Daft-Punk-y with its popping bass, vocal effects and clean drum kit. One of the best things about these tunes is their originality, which leads to surprising instrumentation, like smooth sax riffs when you'd least expect them, vocoder vocal breakdowns, and whirring synthesizers. Forstory's latest single comes out on April 12, so if you can't make it to New Faces Night, at least you'll have something new to listen to. - Do317
