Bio

For The Greater Good was created in the fall of 2006 at the Elizabethtown College campus in Elizabethtown, PA. Freshman lead singer Darren Frehulfer was introduced to sophmore guitarists Greg Snow and Tommy Woo through mutual friends on the schools varsity soccer team, of which Greg and Tommy were members. They later came in contact with drummer Brandon Bear (B-Bear) and bassist Carl Marrara whom had previously been playing music together at the college. After playing together at a local open mic night, the band liked what they heard, dubbed themselves "Rise Up" and began their tour around the Elizabethtown Campus. Originally playing cover's, the band now as a library of originals at their disposal, and has begun playing their own shows in the area. Backed by popular demand the band changed their name in the winter of 2008. Their first EP was released in August of 2008 and made its way on Itunes for online purchase worldwide. During the fall of 2008 the band pushed the album in and around the Elizabethtown and NEPA area. For the Greater Good finished recording another set of originals that was combined with the EP to make a full album, self titled, now available on iTunes. Since then, then Brandon has gone to Virginia Tech pursuing a Doctorate in Physics. Kyle Ashe was named the replacement in February of 2010 and has become a welcome addition to the band.
