I just wanted to send a quick note to you to show our support of your efforts with the band,
"For The Wait." We are proud to have these guys in "our little family" not only as Artists, but as
friends. As you know, we work with many Artists all around the U.S. in many different musical
styles. Some of them are Major Label, some are Indie and some are unsigned. There is one
main thing they all have in common and it's whatwe look for above all else... and that is originality
and love of what they're doing. "For The Wait" exemplifies this attitude as well, if not better than
any Talent we've worked with. In addition to being a great group of guys, they "do the work"
needed to set themselves apart, musically and professionally.

We are extremely pleased to know that you have taken on the responsibility of Management for
this band and will do what we can from our end to support your efforts. "for The Wait" is poised
for greatness. and we see an amazing future ahead for them. they are one of the rare breed
who has all of the ingredients necessary for success.... Talent, originality, desire and attitude. Of course,

"Separation review"

For The Wait play the type of music I have grown up on, angst fueled music with a soft side. Their second album, Separation, reminds me of the first time I heard Taproot’s album Gift (If only Taproot still sounded that good). For The Wait have the same melodic breakdowns, heart wrenching screams and deep musical melodies that Gift provides.

With that being said, that album was released in the year 2000. If you are worried that For The Wait’s album may sound a bit tired and dated because of that, have no fear. For The Wait have made sure to keep things current with their brand of rock. My favorite songs on the album are the blistering track “Civilian” and “Illuminate”. These tracks showcase everything the band has to offer.

The only thing that I wish could be better, was the production quality of the CD. Good music is still good music but if this CD was a little more polished I think many more people would take a listen….but then again the raw quality of the music gives you that truthfulness that a lot of bands try to cover up. For this reason I think this CD comes off strong and makes the ominous tracks such as “Red Horizon”, “Transition” and “Curtain’s Close” come across much stronger. For The Wait have released a solid album and make sure you add it to your rock collection, or at least give it a listen. - melodic.net

"Martyr Clothing"

"Few artist's will make their own path, Sacrifice everything to follow their own ideals and create with the intention for change, To make a difference, To be a voice in defining their own genre, Separate, and become a part of something greater than themselves as individuals".

It is this concept, mentality and way of life that first brought us to For the Wait. Their dedication and passion for music is only matched by their pure natural talent to perform. There are few bands who take the time to truly connect with their fans, write music with meaning and not lose track of why they started playing music in the first place.

For the Wait is one of these bands - born and bred in the independent scene and staying true to the music they want to put out.  We are proud to endorse For the Wait, having them wear the latest in Martyr Clothing apparel and acknowledging them as part of our family. Although half a country apart - we know that the band represents our company in a positive and influential way that brings our worlds together.

We truly hope this relationship continues to grow over time and look forward to what lies ahead.

"Review of “Separation” Album"

Review of “Separation” Album by Rockfist Reviews

For The Wait’s sophomore release “Separation” combines ambient rock
infused with metal and progressive elements and relate-able lyrics that induce
deep thought or reflection; thus creating a perfect sound for the distressed
soul. Richard White, (vocals) ranges from tormented serenades to the
traditional gruff metal chant.

Some songs are very straight forward in their meaning and delivery, like
“Civilian”, while others leave room for interpretation and instrumental
exploration, like “Red Horizon.”

The combination creates a well rounded album featuring the band’s best
attributes. A few songs really stand out off the album and deserve
individual recognition.

“Transition” shows their softer side with pained vocals, delicate instrumentals,
a heartfelt guitar solo, and a beautiful melody.
“Illuminate” opens with pulsating drums that lead into an ambient guitar
followed by splashes of heavy instrumentals and vocals; a mix that works
well for them.

Their title track, “Separation,” fluctuates between hard hitting drums, and a
heavy bass with squealing vocals to a high pitched, racing guitar and finish
with soothing lyrics that seem to plead.

Other mentionable songs include “The Division”, “Civilian”, and “Remove The
Knife.” For The Wait is currently working on a 5-track EP that is anticipated to
be released later this year.

"Interview by Dave Trahan from NewOrleansMusicians.net"

"For the Wait" is currently on tour. NewOrleansMusicians.net sat down with the band in late November to discuss
their latest album, Separation.

"We don't do what we do for popularity or recognition. We do this because it is who we are. The music we create is
far greater than the individual."(from For the Wait's myspace page). This independent spirit is clearly reflected in
their approach to creating music and is embodied in their most recent album 'Separation.'

NOM: So can you describe some of your early influences and how those shaped the development of your present
album?

FTW: Our main influences include Tool and early Alice in Chains. But when we started with this record we left all of
that at the door. We decided to be experimental without being too far out there. We wanted to strip ourselves of other
songs that we had heard or that we had liked and just come into what was a natural sound for us."

NOM: What about the creative process of the band--how did your songs on this album develop?

FTW: "Anyone of us might start the creative process. It could be Fitz who might come in with a rip, or Justin might
come in with a beat and I [Richard]might put a vocal on top of that, or it might be vice-versa all depending on the
situation. Sometimes we would start off in the middle of the song and write from the middle to the end and then we
write the beginning of it. We don't like to start naming parts [for a particular member to develop], everyone puts on
what thinks should be in the song right there at that time.

NOM: How does this album differ from 'The Joy of Misfortune', your first album?

FTW: People are gonna hear a lot of change, a lot of growth in 'Separation.' We were really creative on [this album]
and we just roll the dice on some the songs. We took some really loose concepts and started working with that-
sometimes till 12, 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. There are songs where we didn't stress big changes [from our
previous album] and others where we tried to do something we'd never done before. Before this album we weren't
sure exactly what we were doing. You know, being a young band we just threw songs together [on our first album].
We didn't really make an album we just recorded songs and put them together. This time we went with a group
concept, an album concept. We also stay as metaphoric as possible. A lot of stuff you can't listen to it [the first time]
and go 'I know what he's talking about.' You have a listen to it a few times to get your own interpretation of what it
means. And approaching our music that way wasn't easy at first but once we got into the groove of it, it turned out
that everyone just stopped questioning it. And we ended up with ten songs that we all love.

NOM: What about plans for future records?

FTW: Our master plan is to change every record. We have to grow as artists and can't base what we do on people's
reaction [to what we've done before].

NOM: Is there one song your pushing as a single right now?

FTW: Yea, "Transition"

NOM: How has being in New Orleans influenced your music?

FTW: Its created a kind of dirty, dark accent to our music.

NOM: How has being in New Orleans influenced your view of the music scene here?

FTW: Its kind of hard to get noticed with so much going on here. A big problem in this city is that you have a lot of bar
owners but you don't necessarily have music people that want to bring in new music. You know, they want recognized
figures that will draw crowds. Here, you are either a"metal" band or a "cover" band. There really isn't much in-between.
And you know, its very surprising that B97 is also more willing to help out than local rock stations. Its like rock stations
won't play our music but B97 will play it.

NOM: Is there any particular area of the U.S. that you want to put your mark on?

FTW: The midwest, Chicago

NOM: Where can people find out more about the band and hear some of the album?

FTW: We get a lot of hits on myspace (http://myspace.com/forthewait). We have music, a tour schedule, and ways
for people to connect with the band. - NewOrleansMusicians.net

"Interview with Melodic.net"

If there are any of you who aren’t familiar with For The Wait, just give them some more
time because they are coming for you! The band barely finished releasing their debut album
“Separation” and is once again recording a new EP titled “On The Cutting Room Floor”.
Guitarist Michael Fitzmorris sat down with me to give our readers some insight on the
band’s new album among many other exciting happenings for the band.

Would you please introduce yourself and tell everyone why we should listen to For The Wait.

Michael Fitzmorris: My name is Michael Fitzmorris and I play guitar in the New Orleans
based progressive, rock band For The Wait. Were a new band that takes a different and
creative approach to song writing. When you buy a For The Wait record, youre buying into
a full musical experience that revolves around abstract thought that doesnt adhere or
conform to modern genres of music.

How has the band been doing since the release of “Separation”? Any big changes or crazed
fan stories lol?

Michael Fitzmorris: The band has evolved and progressed rather quickly in the past year on
many levels, especially live. After the release of "Separation", our focus was to bring the
record to life. We didnt want to just "play the songs in a set." We wanted people to connect
to the songs with us. Thats why our concept is such a strong backbone. Our passion and
belief in our subject matter carries over into our live performance. Musically, weve
discovered our sound. People arent going to believe were the same band when they hear our
follow up to "Separation."

No crazed fan stories but we have made incredible friends that gave us a place to sleep and
food to eat. We are especially grateful to the fans in Madison and Green Bay Wisconsin.
Thank you!

It looks like you have been steadily gaining new fans every week based on the increase in
plays on your Myspace page alone. How have you continued to spread the word about For
The Wait?

Michael Fitzmorris: We believe in a grass roots approach. We connect with fans on the stage
and off the stage. Weve become personal friends with a lot of fans. Thats special for us and
its why we call our fans The FTW Family. Also, I think our music grabs you a little bit at a
time. Theres a "big picture" with us and you can only piece it together over a period of time.
So fans get more and more interested in us every time they hear us. They anticipate the next
step with us.

The band recently got done recording some new music in Cleveland, what can we expect to
hear from the band in terms of new music? When can we hear some new music?

Michael Fitzmorris: "Separation," wasnt a stepping stone for us, but rather a focus in a
different direction. "On The Cutting Room Floor," is the real sound of For The Wait. Its
intensely melodic and mathematical yet showcases a strong ambient side as well. Another big
change for the listeners will be the guitar solos.
Rome did an amazing job and really took the record to another level. This is also the first of
many concept records we will be doing. The music revolves around a short story created by
our lyricists/vocalist Richard White. So this record is full circle for us. Its everything we
want to be. We wish we could release today! Thats how excited we are about it, but most
likely it wont be released until the beginning of next year.

It seems pretty early to be recording new music so soon after the release of “Separation”.
What made you guys get back into action so soon?

Michael Fitzmorris: "Progression is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must first
set yourself on fire". We are a very focused group that loves to create music together so
writing is a big part of our everyday routine. Plus, we like to capture certain moments and
intuitions. That relates to what I stated earlier about connecting our passion for this band
through the music to the audience. Once we started writing around the concept for the story
we didnt want to stop.

I would like to know how the band signed with HM/Live Marketing. Were you looking at
other options or was this something that just seemed to fit well with the band?

Michael Fitzmorris: It was just the perfect fit. We met them through Don Debiase(our
producer) while recording the new record at Chin Studios. They understand us as artists
and businessmen and we connected right away. We are very excited about working with them.

New things just seem to keep happening with the band. Can you elaborate on some things
that we should be on the lookout from For The Wait in the near future?

Michael Fitzmorris: You can expect music that matters and progression from record to
record. I think bands are playing number games with record labels right now just so they
can possibly get a deal. Once the Myspace formula doesnt work anymore, who will be left
standing? In my opinion, only the bands that strive to make important music that will have
an affect on the listeners life.

I am definitely looking forward to the new EP “On The Cutting Room Floor” that will
hopefully come out sooner than later. Do you have any final words for our readers?

Michael Fitzmorris: The first ten people that email us through our Myspace page and say
that they read this article will get a free copy of "Separation" personally mailed to them.
Thanks to everyone who supports independent music.

"FTW Article from Shive Magazine"

Zydeco, Jazz, Blues, and Brass are all genre’s that are synonymous with New Orleans' musical atmosphere. But rarely will you hear rock, metal, ambient, and progressive as a part of New Orleans musical makeup. Yet, up-and-coming rock band For The Wait has managed to define the New Orleans rock scene with their metaphoric lyrics and progressive sound. They have spread their sound from Louisiana to Wisconsin with endorsements from Mills Acoustics, Roadready, Ranghart Clothing, and Ddrum.

Comprised of Richard White (vocals), Roman Duffard (vocals/guitar), Brandon Fitzmorris (guitars/samples), Kenny Foco (bass), and Justin Perez (drums). For The Wait is on a mission to challenge their listeners with thought-provoking lyrics and subject matter that depends upon listeners' interpretation. As a vocalist, Richard White puts it, "When writing lyrics I like to take a metaphoric approach to what I'm writing about. This allows the listener to come to their own conclusion about the songs' meaning." This is a rare approach for many bands, which is what makes FTW so unique--their interpretive view on life, as seen in their name.

The name For The Wait was created by lead vocalist Richard White. It represents the complexity of life and death and how it affects the decisions they make. It started out as a song when White "decided that the title sounded more like a band name." This concept of life & death has shaped the sound of the band with song/album titles like "Separation" and "The Joy of Misfortune," which are both pragmatic yet artistic in nature. Brandon Fitzmorris explains, "our songs are well calculated from start to finish. Somewhere between the mathematical world and the conceptual world, you get a For The Wait song."

Calculated it is. The name of the group came before there even was a group. For The Wait was more of a lifestyle for White and Fitzmorris who met when they were teenagers. But in 2005 their lifestyle began to shape into a band of unified artist with a passion for making music when Justin Perez (former Goatwhore drummer) connected with White and Fitzmorris. Then came Kenny Foco in '07 and Roman Duffard in the Spring of '09. Fitzmorris explains, "I think our passion and determination to make music our career is what brought us together as a band."

This same determination and passion has inspired FTW to work on a more "polished" sound for their 5 song EP, On The Cutting Room Floor, which is a continuation of their latest release, Separation. The group is currently collaborating with Don DeBiase in Cleveland, OH this summer with an anticipated release later this year. But for now they are hitting the road performing songs from both of their previous releases (including The Joy of Misfortune).

Metal, ambient, and rock may not be synonymous with New Orleans, but one thing that is, is its love of people as seen in For The Wait's dedication to their fans. Richard White sums it up in the following statement:

We want the fans or "family" to feel like they are part of what we are trying to accomplish. That is why we try to maintain a relationship with as many of our followers as possible. We want to exceed any expectations that our fans may have. Hopefully we can achieve this bond and continue to put out the music that we all love.

"Road Ready Endorsement"

Good Day fellow music proffesionals,

It is my pleasure in addressing you today in concerns with the band For The Wait.

In 2008 Road Ready USA began a process to expand and enhance the quality of our
endorsement program. At the top of the list of goals that we had was to seek out bands with
professional attitudes who would not only carry the name of our brand well, but also actively
promote our products.

For The Wait was among the first bands that we identified as a good potential endorsee. Their
online presence appeared active enough that it would benefit Road Ready by association. We
were also excited to discover the bands active schedules. Personal contact is a key in making
sales for us and and without the help of music professionals spreading the word for us, such as
For The Wait, our brand recognition would not be what it is today

Since joining our list endorsees, we have been nothing but pleased with the participation of For
The Wait. We wish them well in all of their endeavors, and would highly recommend them for any
projects they may be in consideration for.

FROM CONCEPT, TO VISION, TO REALITY

For The Wait is a complete conceptual experience that challenges their listeners with thought provoking lyrics and subject matter. The ideology of the band is deeply rooted between its members and is projected as a way of life through their music. Every aspect of the band provides meaning and insight towards this belief. Even the name is a concept within itself and is used a metaphor of time, life, and death. Their musical approach is derived through abstract thought and is influenced by the dark, storied city of New Orleans.
The goal from its early vision in May of 2000 between vocalist Richard White and guitarist Michael Fitzmorris has been to distinguish themselves as true artists through new and inventive means of creativity. This is seen in their new EP, "On The Cutting Room Floor."

ON THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR

The unreleased five-song EP is the first installment of a four part series. The vision is to provide a separate experience from live performances and full length albums with captivating short stories put to music. Each song represents a different phase of the story and leads the listener to the tragic ending of Frank T. Winters. See Behind On The Cutting Room Floor for more details.

2010

The band is currently in their home studio writing the second installment of their concept line, "The Watchmaker's Analogy." Fans can expect a fully revamped website and the release of, "On The Cutting Room Floor," with the full comic book illustration of the story by the end of this year.

BEHIND ON THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR

THE VISION

To write a series of five song EPs that would serve as soundtracks for the dramatic short stories of City Forbid. The EPs are written so that each song will literally represent a phase of the story. The motivation is to give For The Wait a different outlet to express their creative ideas and also, to give their fans a new experience. The project started in January 09 after the band created the idea for a line of concept comics accompanied with soundtracks that follow the stories. The band approached producer Don Debiase to produce and engineer the record so that the project would reach full potential. The EP was recorded seven months later in one week at Chin Music Studios in Cleveland, OH.

THE CONCEPT

On The Cutting Room Floor is a dramatic short story with a tragic ending. It is the first installment of a four part series. The story follows FRANK T. WINTERS, a middle aged projectionist, who is suddenly forced to confront his dark past when a life altering decision is placed at his feet in the form of a mysterious package. Inside he finds an 8mm film reel and his one chance at leaving a legacy. The reel contains footage that will expose The Luxury, a now local criminal organization that Frank founded with his childhood friend, but parted ways with when the group changed ideals. Years later his only son would be killed due to this departure. Frank's choices are clear. He can destroy the film and continue to live out his life never achieving any distinction or legacy. Or he can edit the reel and face certain death after he shows the film instead of the premiere movie for tomorrow night's showing. Frank writes a letter at the end so the world would know of his choice. Unknown to Frank, his letter will never be read as it is burned next to his murdered body.

THE MEANING

The story symbolizes the ideology of the band- the decisions and choices made between life and death-realized by the reel. One of the underlining themes is the reel not representing truth as much as the personal sacrifice that vindicates a sub conscience human desire to be a tragic hero.
