Feeling a bit camera shy

When conceiving the band, Fortress of Attitude’s founders, Scott Barkan and Gregg Zehentner, set out to return rock and roll to its fun loving roots. Tired of the brooding, contemplative songs that dominate pop radio, the duo crafted a small catalog of eclectic material, ranging from Halloween-themed love songs to odes praising the American Gladiators to lengthy rants about today’s comedians. Bringing their tunes around to local parties and open mics, Scott and Gregg were surprised to find how quickly audiences connected to the characters in their story-songs.

Still feeling they weren’t achieving their full potential, Barkan and Zehentner brought on long time collaborators Todd Seyfarth and Ian Smith to fill out the band. Things evolved quickly from there. Suddenly each performance was packed with onstage banter and audience participation, turning each concert into a spectacle.

Now, armed with their debut full length album, “One True Dream”, Fortress of Attitude is ready to spread rock and roll freedom across the globe!

Over the years, the individual members of Fortress of Attitude have had the opportunity to open for and share festival slots with a host of diverse bands, including Ween, Estradasphere, The Rapture, Gwar, The Lloyd Dobbler Effect, The Big Wu, The Slip, Aesop Rock, World Inferno/Friendship Society, The Clarks, Hypnotic Clambake, and more.
