Bio

The Fortunate Sons are knee deep in country and blues, stained from the filthy banks of the River Clyde.

"These Guys are Fuckin' Great"
STEVE VAN ZANDT, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN'S E-STREET BAND / THE SOPRANO'S

Sharing a mutual love of roots, rhythm and blues, Sam West, Calum McCann, Michael Law and Graham McGeoch formed The Fortunate Sons in a smoky west end flat in 2005. Creating an underground buzz with Friday and Saturday night residencies in Glasgow, they cut their teeth in the early hours of the morning playing folk and blues in dark and dirty venues.

After causing such a stir around Glasgow, The Fortunate Sons were soon taking their sound to bigger audiences after being invited to record the first ever live session on Scotlands number one commercial radio station, Real Radio. They followed up this exposure by playing to thousands at the "Big In Falkirk" festival, before flying off for an 11 show tour of Europe taking in Greece and Germany. After excellent reviews of their live performances, The Fortunate Sons continue to be invited to play a live sessions on national radio such as BBC Radio Scotland.

In 2007 The Fortunate Sons will play over 100 gigs, already taking in The Isle of Skye Music Festival (Scotland), The Wickerman Festival (Scotland), Vikedal Roots Festival (Norway) and Swinin´WiWa (Germany). Recently they embarked on their first full length tour of Germany, playing 15 dates and performing live on RNF TV to an audience of 3.5 Million - gathering excellent reviews from International Newspapers.

The Fortunate Sons have now finished recording their first full length album and are currently in negotiations for its release in the UK, Germany and USA.
