Bio

The idea of Forty Fathoms came about when founding members Kyle and Taylor had noticed something missing in the Denver music scene. To fill in the void, they began writing relatable metal-core with a melodic feel, drawing influences from the likes of Asking Alexandria, Miss May I, and Still Remains. It was only a matter of time before their first recordings blew up the net, including a cover of Ke$ha's "TiK ToK." A short time after recording their first songs, Forty Fathoms started to tear up Colorado venues including the Marquis Theatre and The Black Sheep. Just like that Forty Fathoms had quickly risen above most local acts in the Denver scene.
Forty Fathoms spent the past summer recording their debut EP, which features six songs that rival most heavy hitters today. Their self-titled album has no shortage of tasty riffs, soaring choruses, and breakdowns to keep the kids moving. However, Forty Fathoms has managed to give each song its own sound and feel different from the last, sure to entertain all. The superior song writing and musicianship heard on this album is untypical when listening to most other bands' first release. The band has not slowed down with 10+ songs already in the works for their follow-up.
In a time where most bands depend only on the internet to promote, Forty Fathoms has taken a strong grasp not only on social media, but also the old school footwork approach, passing out thousands of CDs, covering malls and campuses in flyers, and making personal connections and relationships to anybody willing to hear them out. The band also commuted to Texas last year and promoted at Austin's legendary "South by Southwest" and "South by So What". With past band experience, they are quite aware of the necessary steps and sacrifices it takes to be a successful band on a local and national level. Be on the lookout for their EP and shows in a town near you.
