Fortyfivenorth

Fortyfivenorth is a folk rock duo based in Dallas, Texas where life is lived, dreams are built and perhaps broken, and a song written about it after. Bridging the gap between Tiffany Brooks from north Texas and Justin Philip Brooks from the southeast portion of the state, is Interstate 45. Winding through the wilderness of eastern Texas, it is a long and weary road that brought them together to find that when they sing together, something clicks into place. Both raised in musical households, a sense of melody and deep longing to tell a story about something beyond themselves took root.

Their songs explore deep and conflicting questions we have about ourselves and relationships with others, struggles and joys. Their song, Letting You Know, states Complications are in everything. I want to tell you I love you, but you want to wear my ring., investigating the conflicting nature of selfish desire with deep love for another. Thank You And Goodnight is a song of reconciliation as they sing, Bring your axe, your nails and wood, and lets rebuild what was misunderstood.

As they walk in the shoes of the stories they tell, a sense of wholeness is always searched for. For them, literally and figuratively, fortyfivenorth is the way home.
