"Fosilized Apostle, The Re-Birth Of Jam!!"

Well I had quite a surprise the other night. I had gone out to check out a friends band and ended up leaving after the opener.
This group blew me away and the name of that group was Fosilized Apostle.
They came out with one of my favorite Frank Zappa tunes "Pygmye Twylyte" it was amazing. They went on to rage the entire hour and a half!! I was positively floored.
one of the best New bands I've seen in Minneapolis since The Big Wu came on the scene. Their Harmonies were haunting, hooks were catchy and the song writing was superb. After I suggest if you haven't been to a great show in a while check them out, You won't be disappointed!

Patrick formed the group Chance Chooses with high school friends to play some local gigs. While at college in Mankato he played with jazz groups and local musicians eventually meeting Scott Yonkee and Pete Wagner who were at the time playing in the group 3 in a Tree. Scott, Pete, and Patrick went on to form The Homegrown Unknowns blending a raw funk sound with many contemperary styles.
Today Patrick stives to combine deep pocket funk-rock feel with jazz and world styles.

Scott Yonkee-

Scott started playing the bass at age 15 after a stint at the piano, guitar and drums. He started playing in band’s right away and never looked back. My first “working band” was The Void. A mixed group of college students, 30 year old cover band drummer and a down and out singer song writer. They had mild success playing the southern Minnesota bar scene with occasional gigs in the Twin City ’s, and other Minnesota/Wisconsin college towns. After one album, Scott and two other musicians moved to Dallas , TX to play and learn the blues. Played around Dallas and became 3 in a Tree. They got singed to a recorded deal with a company that was an offset of Atlantic Records. Then spent a year recording in Dallas and the hill country near Austin , TX but it never really amounted to much. So we headed back to Minnesota and went our own way. Scott started playing with Fat Rudy and Ian Hilmer and eventually Solie. After a few years and a couple of albums, Scott felt it was time to reunite with the guys from 3 in a Tree. Their biggest gig came after winning a Kfan contest. They got to play in front of a sold out crowd at the Xcel center in St. Paul opening up for Bon Jovi. After a couple more years with the Tree, Scott and guitarist Pete Wagner found drummer Pat Dalton and formed The Homegrown Unknowns in Mankato . Eager for a new town, Scott and Pat moved to Minneapolis to pursue a new music adventure. Where they met up with Former Dred I Dread Guitarist Derek Raabe and formed Fosilized Apostle.
