BandPop

Expanding from singer/songwriter roots to include a jazzy and groovy feel (not yet demonstrated with the songs I have recorded), my melodies and rich acoustic chords are enhanced by everything from electric guitar to full string ensembles.

Biography

I originally trained as a classical violinist with the intention of composing and performing in that genre, but a few years after finishing my music degree I became increasingly disappointed with the classical music world. When I began to search for somewhere else for musical inspiration, I turned to songwriting for a emotional outlet (which is where the first song I wrote, Fade, came from). I've come to love songs from a huge range of artists, from Radiohead to John Mayer to Tori Amos, everything in between and much more.

Fade

Written By: Chris Fotinakis

The posters on my wall
Say it all
I'm not happy where I am
All the places where I thought I'd be
Places I thought I'd see
Nothing turned out how I planned

It all fades away
These days fade into nights fade into days
It all fades away
Another month, another year escapes

So I content myself with little things
It hides the desire I'm harboring
Helps me tolerate the day
Cause the hardest thing is moving on when you know that something's wrong
And you just can't seem to find it

Cause it all fades away
These days fade into nights fade into days
It all fades away
Another month, another year escapes

How long has it been since this clock moved
When did I stop caring 'bout the time
Or if anything improved
'Cause it's been 3:27 for a year
Time I see the changing leaves
And conquer all these fears
Gotta get outside of this numbness somehow
Don't let the hands fool you
Time is running out
And I'm fading away

How does beauty fade
When the picture never changes
How does feeling fade
When the melody stays the same

Cause it all fades away
These days fade into nights fade into days
It all fades away
These colors in my eyes fade into grey
It all fades away
Another month, another year escapes
It all fades away

In My Mind

Written By: Chris Fotinakis

I breathe her in
If only in my mind
I taste her skin
Sweet as sin, so divine

She yearns for me
If only in my mind
She smiles for me
And I feel free, I feel so fine

But then I open up my eyes
To feel this anger grow inside
She ignores the passion in my mind
And things she's done to wound my pride

So she runs from me
From fears in her own mind
But I am not the one
Who clouds her sun, and left her crying

I wish she'd open up her eyes
But she's fixated on the sky
She won't see the passion in my mind
Nothing more to say this time

So I breathe her in
But only in my mind
I can still taste her skin
But memory dims from wind and time

Well there are some things you can't hide
And I saw passion in her eyes
Can change her mind, can't turn back time
So she'll be mine in my mind
