"Four Dead In Ohio @ Bristol Cooler Club, Supporting Vintage Trouble"

One of the worst things about not living in Bristol is having to travel in the rain, but for the sake of a gig it has to be done. When Vintage Trouble have sold out one Moles gig and that they were booked again to be play another, a late minute additional gig at the Cooler had to be jumped on. If the hype is to be believed, it’s not going to be long until Vintage Trouble playing venues the size of Moles and the Cooler is going to be a sight of the past.

With only the one support band, Four Dead In Ohio, there was a lot resting on the shoulders of this four-piece psychedelic rock band. It was up to them to warm up the crowd ready for Vintage Trouble – and that they did. They rumbled and distorted their way through a seven song set with their psychedelic licks, pounding drums and two-part harmonies. Singer Jakob Ohlen’s vocals glide over the music with a natural ease; the lyrics spilling out of him. The easiness of their music instantly puts you in mind of sixties psychedelic as you feel your body melting away to the groove, swaying gently as your foot taps to the beat. At the same time as feeling your mind giving into the beat, you are swept up in the meatiness of the low, throaty bass lines that reverberated around the Cooler.

‘Desert Dream’ showed the bands’ ability to write a song that combines not just psychedelic guitar, but a hint of blues too. While ‘Jesus Won’t Dance In My High Heels’ shows off the rockiness, their twiddly guitar and ability to build a song up in layers. The final song of the set, 'Peasant's Prayer', had the bass rumbling into action. With the drums joining in, you could feel the combination of the drums and bass racing through your body, the guitar skittering through the mix, as words like “She walks with the devil” echoed through. As their set vibrated to a close, I had already made the firm decision to buy their EP. And that I did. - Live Music Scene
