"Four Nights Gone - "Resilience" [EP]"

Wow! I love finding good new music to listen to. One of the best perks of reviewing music for PureGrainAudio is finding gems like this one. I had never before heard of the band, but their newest release, Resilience, is a sweet find; it's a terrific mixture of hard rock, alternative, and post-hardcore.

Above all though, at the core of this disc are five beautifully written melodic, mid-tempo tunes that really got into my head; think Chevelle or perhaps Breaking Benjamin. I am a fan of big pristine productions as well and this one fits the bill perfectly. All five of this EP's tracks are radio friendly and I fully expect, once the word gets out, that these guys will be seeing quite a bit of airplay. I suggest getting yourself a copy of this release... pre-order it today! - Bruce Moore

"Four Nights Gone Resilience Review"

Four Nights Gone may be one of the best bands you haven’t heard of.
Their latest EP, Resilience, is one of those very radio-friendly, mainstream rock records that will get you so intertwined in the music that you’ll forget to pay attention and just lose yourself in the music.
Their catchy guitar riffs and impressive vocals are sure to be a winner with any listener and, with just enough screaming to appeal to those who dislike that aspect of rock, this has all the makings to put the band on the fast-track to the top. - Reggie Edwards

"FEATURED SONG: Four Nights Gone – “Crash and Burn”"

f you were as big a fan of Staind and 3 Doors Down in the late 90s as I was (and hey, I’m not afraid to admit it, I was a fan of Staind and 3 Doors Down in the late 90s!) you’ll find plenty to enjoy about Four Nights Gone’s new single “Crash and Burn.”

The song has touches of modern alterna-rock production, courtesy of producer Ethan Bill (My Arcadia, Stateside) but what really makes the song pop from a hook perspective is how it seems to be existing on both a current and nostalgic plane. “I walk in a shadowed land of who I was,” Damian LaRocco sings, before hitting the chorus: “I won’t fade away!” Everything about the song would have been a smash hit if it’d been released in 1998, but there’s nothing here which sounds out of place in 2011 either.

All of which should bode well for the band as the Staten Island rockers market the song and work on an EP due out early in 2012. For those of you who don’t believe in the term “guilty pleasure,” choosing rather to enjoy music for what it is, Four Nights Gone has arrived with a worthy debut single. It’ll be interesting to follow them as they release that EP, to see what original musical voice develops along the way. - Hear Hear Music

"Four Nights Gone Review of 'Crash and Burn EP'"

Local Staten Island band Four Nights Gone recently released their first EP, The Crash and Burn EP, and to no-one's surprise, they delivered just like they always do.

The band's signature sound is a combination of 2000s nu metal with hints of grunge and alternative throughout, sort of a mix between Three Days Grace and Papa Roach.

The first track, "Scared to Breath," opens the EP up strong. The changes in flow between the music and vocals, plus the mid-tempo speed give the song a "big" sound.

The title song, "Crash and Burn," is very suiting of the ep. It has a solid and catchy chorus and the mix of the gritty guitar matching the droning hook of, "I can't fake this, I won't crash and burn," which especially stands out at the end with the background screaming.

Next on the CD is, "The Message." This track has a heavy flow with dynamic instrumentation throughout. Again, the song has a strong hook and the verses prove to be very good to sing-along to as well.

"Despair," musically has a big sound with a powerful chorus. There is also a great guitar solo over the bridge. The song is the most rough around the edges, but at the same time keeps up the consistency of the rest of the ep.

Continuing the theme of great choruses, and perhaps fittingly enough, "My Last Call," closes out the album in a perfect way. This song is musically the best on the album and very reminiscent of Breaking Benjamin.

It has and up and down feel to it, and is definitely a single anywhere. The chants before the build a musical bridge are enjoyable and so is the layering of the double vocals at the end.

Overall The Crash and Burn EP, is a fantastic first effort for this band. They did an awesome job of crafting songs that were both easy to and fun to sing along to, and yet conveyed some meaning throughout the writing.

Four Nights Gone has a mainstream sound and is knocking on the doors of Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace as they try to prove they are the new guys in town.

"Album Review: FOUR NIGHTS GONE- Crash & Burn EP"

Staten Island based Four Nights Gone formed in 2010, with one purpose in mind, to take the rock world by storm. With the recent release of their debut EP, it appears a storm is brewing. The quartet cites such bands as Breaking Benjamin, and Chevelle as their biggest influences; my ears agree and then some…
This five song offering is a musical melting pot, a tympanic twist of Breaking Benjamin-meets-Five Finger Death Punch sprinkled with a healthy dose of Maidenesque guitar wizardry. Highlights include the title track, “Crash & Burn”, and the lyrically brilliant single “My Last Call” . I would, however, be the shittiest, deafest music critic ever if I didn’t single out the album’s shining star, “The Message”. “The Message” is the complete package that sets your mental music player to repeat, a radio friendly rocketship poised to shoot this foursome straight to stardom; but even more importantly, it’s the reason I’m about to deliver you this message… Click here, buy the album, and show these guys some fucking love!

"Album Review: Four Nights Gone- Crash and Burn EP"

Staten Island based hard rock band Four Nights Gone formed in the summer of 2010, and just recently released their first EP, Crash and Burn digitally on January 20th, 2012. Even though they have only released one EP so far, they are clearly a promising band on the rise, and one that any fan of rock music needs to listen to.

There are five tracks on Crash and Burn, and it absolutely leaves you wanting more. When listening to Crash and Burn for the first time my initial thought was disbelief at how fantastic it sounded. It is really hard to believe it is the first release from a very young band when it is just so very good.

Four Nights Gone cites some of their influences as Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle, and you can hear some of this in their music, but they can also be compared to a number of other hard rock bands (10 years, Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace..ect). Even if the sound isn’t completely unique, their material is still original and it sounds really excellent.

The best songs on the EP include the title track “Crash and Burn”, the radio friendly and incredibly catchy “The Message”, and the musically fantastic closer “My Last Call.” All the songs are memorable and there isn’t a single track on the EP that wouldn’t fit right in on a contemporary hard rock station. I definitely recommend you all get their EP.

They have a bunch of upcoming shows in the area, including March 16th at Full Cup in Staten Island, NY, March 31st at LaGuardia High School in New York, NY and May 12th at The Delancey in New York, NY. You can check out all their dates and listen to some of the songs from Crash and Burn on their Facebook page, and buy their EP on iTunes. - Jessica Schwahl
