Bio

FourSixtySeven was founded in early 2004 by Karl Overbeek, Percival Dens, Almar Enzler & Joël Warokka. Karl, Almar & Joël were already working together for a number of years under the name GROOVEzGARDEN, a collaboration that resulted in a nomination back in 2000 in the category
R&B/Hip-Hop for ‘De Grote Prijs Van Nederland (DGPNL). Karl wrote the lyrics and the melody’s and Almar and Joël were more responsible for the music. This collaboration worked fine for years, even though it was lacking a certain balance. A balance, that would soon be found with the addition of Percival Dens. There was now a second leadsinger and co-arranger. Even more, there was instant chemistry between the four men, both musically as well as personally. During the first sessions there were immediate new recordings, such as the ballad ‘Over And Over’ and the funky souljam ‘A New Love (Better Be Careful)’. When Karl and Almar suddenly came up with the Latin-flavoured ‘Love Fool’, they decided to take their chances once again in entering for the GPNL. They made presentable recordings of the latter two songs together with the gospel-souljam ‘It’s No Surprise’ and sent in their demo. When they received yet another nomination, the boys started arranging gigs to warm up for the contest. In 2005 they spent most of their time writing and recording new songs. The guys wrote enough new material for two CD’s (including ‘Anything’, a duet featuring rap-star Bad Brya and ‘Spend Some Time’, which has just been released in the Netherlands on the collection CD Magic Sounds, vol.4). With a business plan in their pocket and over 40 songs written and recorded, FourSixtySeven is now ready for the world!. We’re about to get back into the rehearsal studio with both new and old musicians, with all new songs and a whole new energy.
Enjoy the heartfelt and original songs and watch us perform! The first song, “Let’s Slow Dance (All Night)”, is one of the recent compositions and has a real neo-soul flavour to it, and even pays tribute to the likes of Leon Ware, El DeBarge & Fourplay...
