"Four Stories High - Turn Me On and Turn It Up EP"

Four Stories High - Turn Me On and Turn It Up EP
Record Label: Unsigned
Release Date: July 2008

Wisconsin’s Four Stories High have the skateboard punk fun of Long Island’s Patent Pending, the party pop tussling of Punchline, and the kids-wanna-rock flagstaffs of New Found Glory. Four Stories High’s latest EP, Turn Me On and Turn It Up has a confetti-rock vibe that makes you feel like jumping from trampoline to trampoline. Guitarists Alex Smith and lead singer Corbin Coonan resonate with amusement park shenanigans gassing up their lines with rapid wagging and belly-flopping laughter while the serried movements of bassist Chris Frey and drummer Keegan Weckler adjust the torque of the valves that tighten around the passages. The music is age appropriate for teens, but highly recommended for anyone older.

The stout chord rings along “From Six To Midnight” and “Too Far Behind” create a nest of jostling antics with pop punk frequencies. The songs make for amusement park tunage that is reminiscent of Patent Pending. The energy levels in “Destiny” vary from a cooling acoustic guitar strokes in the intro to serried rhythms jacking up the activity to a pop punk fervor. The lyrics have an idealistic image about relationships with phrases like, “You and I were meant to be / And if the wish comes true, I’d do anything for you” from “Destiny.” The phat bass prongs etched along “A Little More Than Likely” balk like a grinding muffler as the guitar chords infuse a volley of engorged party pop blasts through the passages.

Four Stories High have shared the stage with Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, Good Charlotte, The Maine, and Cute is What We Aim For in the past. The band proves that there is always room for party pop and they deliver it big time in Turn Me On and Turn It Up EP.

Bio

We're four piece band from Green Bay, Wisconsin who loves to play music and works very hard for everything that we've accomplished so far. In our short time of being together we've become the largest band in the area drawing huge crowds and putting on high energy shows. Forming a blend of old and new pop punk we've become one of the first Green Bay bands in a long time to break out of the local constricting scene and step into bigger things. With this happening our music has recently exploded and we've not only received a lot of plays/views/attention but also we've stepped into the national stage and shared the stage with acts such as: Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, Good Charlotte and The Maine and will be playing with Cute Is What We Aim For in August at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We went into the studio in late July to record our debut four song EP entitled "Turn Me On and Turn It Up." Since this release the response has been explosive. With the members ages spanning from only 17 to 19 you know that these young musicians will be here for a long time.
