""Change is the Catalyst" Review"

If Slayer and Sepultra is your cup of tea, you should enjoy such bone-crushers as "Dogma for the Docile" and "The User's Guide to Longevity".
- The Metal Horizon Online Magazine

""Change is the Catalyst" review"

"...there's nothing I could pin down as a weak point on this CD. What these guys are doing at least reaches the quality I require from an underground band. I won't be surprised if they get a deal tomorrow" - www.21stcenturymetal.net

""Change is the Catalyst" Review"

"..with a style of their own, In a Moment pays tribute nicely to thrash & metal bands who’ve forged the path before them" - www.indiepro.com

Bio

Fractious was formed in early 2003 and has spent the last few years developing their sound from a raw rock to a more progressive alternative metal sound with a change in drummer and the addition of guitarists in between 2006 and 2007. As soon as the new lineup was solidified Fractious went into recording under the name of In A Moment and released their first EP "Change is the Catalyst" in Nov 2006 which has had all of its 8 tracks featured at number 1 on the number1music charts at some point in time as well as enjoying playing to crowd of close to 400 people at their CD launch at the Amplifier in November 2006.
Fractious's influences have been said to be a mixture of Faith No More, Meshuggah, Deftones, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Slayer and Sepultura. Distorted heavy vocals sporadically interlaced with clean melodies with an assortment of timing and tempo changes, rock induced riffs sedated with episodes of ambience and polyrhythmic drums.
Fractious have had the pleasure of playing in support of some high quality interstate touring bands such as: Sydney bands Fingerprint Resistant and Beretta Justice, Melbourne band Sydonia as well as Brisbane based band Dead Letter Circus. Fractious have also succeeded in reaching the semi finals in the 2006 National Campus Bands Competition as well as taking part in the Kalamunda Show and the Yac It Up all ages festival alongside Little Birdy and Red Jezabel in 2005.
Fractious also embarked on 2 Southwest Tours of Western Australia and are planning an up north tour plus a tour over East in the first half of 2010.
Fractious are currently working on material for their new album which will be released early 2010.
