"A review written for the Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange by Mark S. Tucker"

More than anything, The World comes across as a half-lit stage presentation for post-Beat hipsters grown weary of all the blare and squall of an overdriven mainstream, looking for literate but unorthodox fare and a chance to once again think while immersing in moody atmospherics (...) don't do anything else once you've tossed the disc on, or you'll miss more than you ever guessed was there. - ~

Bio

Frances Livings is an grant winning writer, lyricist and singer-songwriter. Born in London and currently residing in Los Angeles, she holds a PhD in Art History and an MA in English Literature and Media Studies.

She studied jazz (voice and piano) in Hamburg Germany and is currently the singer of the Ipanema Lounge Project, regularly performing Latin jazz. Frances is also the founder of her own label, Moontraxx.

Her theatre background, mingled with the circumstance of often having had to adapt to new and unpredictable situations and her experience in the field of experimentation and electronica, when writing and performing with the 4UrbanArtists, has determined her style as a writer and performer. She loves and writes songs with strong lyrics, interesting chords and memorable melodies.

But one of the main things for her is, how the imagery touches people and which story it tells. Her imagination and curiosity, combined with a wide range of life experiences, deliver the substance from which she draws creatively.
