"Francie Krienitz - "I Won't Be Bothered""

It was a year ago that country radio made major waves and earned national attention over remarks comparing female country singers to tomatoes; commonly referred to as “tomatogate.”
Though the chattering and whispering has calmed, an onslaught of females to radio has not increased all that much in the wake of the controversy.
As radio eagerly awaits a strong song to present the change, that leaves plenty of room for Katy, TX native Francie Krienitz to lead the charge with her single “I Won’t Be Bothered.”
The song, taken from her debut album Cigarettes & Whiskey, is an anthem for the everyday, real country girls to stand proudly behind.
The “beautiful people” crowd of females can be catty, backstabbing, and rumor spreading; we all know these types and confronting them is the entire point to this song.
The catty female finds everything and anything wrong with Krienitz as she spews out a list of things from her hair being too short, to her drinking too much, and even how she must not be a girl since she likes to hunt and fish so much.
However, Krienitz’ rebuttal is simple and to the point, “I won’t be bothered by what you say to me - I won’t be bothered by what you say bout me.”
She later stands boldly in who she is when she refuses to change for anyone and declares, “I like to wear my jeans & my dirty cowboy boots - I like my beer, my dogs, my guns & even a shot or two.”
An artist has to have the right amounts of attitude and sass in their vocals to carry a lyric like this one, and Francie Krienitz excels in that must-needed trait which gives this song the additional fuel it needs to resonate with listeners and be a radio hit.
In a world that is full of anti-bullying messages, Francie Krienitz issues a stark reminder with “I Won’t Be Bothered” that it is okay to be proud of who you are regardless of what others may say about you. - One Stop Country
