Franco Campanella

Franco Campanella

 Chicago, Illinois, USA
BandJazzPop

Franco’s smooth seductive voice transports you back to the age of jazz with enough soul to stem from someone three times his age.

Biography

"Music has been a part of my entire life. Through theater, in school shows, performing choirs & recordings. I cannot explain the true feeling of fulfillment the moment I step on stage. Being able to perform brings out my true self. Music is what I love and know best. It is more than just a job or a career it's something I have a passion for." Franco

Classic style, whiskey smooth vocals, and a wise intensity have helped define Franco Campanella as a dominate force in modern jazz. Working professionally for over a decade, his experience has driven him to emulate and expand on the concrete streamline sense of the late 1950s. The debonair style of sophisticated crooner Frank Sinatra meet the modern street sensibility of Hip-Hop to create an artist that is eclectic beyond his years.
Amassing a body of performances any aged artist would be proud to earn, Campanella has proven himself as a solid act on some of the world's most notable stages. From Carnagie Hall to Chicago's famed Goodman Theatre, this burgeoning star has earned the respect of critical audiences on an impressive level. Coupled with experience modeling for national ad campaigns, he is truly the reincarnation of his historic counterparts.
In 2009, a self-titled EP was released highlighting work produced and recorded by Campanella. Currently wrapping up his new project with Stonecutter Records President and music industry vet Chris Steinmetz, Franco looks forward to the opportunity to share his diverse musical perspective. Recorded in the city that made him, his first full length work has seen him into places of highly revered musical status including the Chicago Recording Company. Released in the Spring of 2011, the collection of music will consist of both originals and covers - to be followed by a tour backed by experienced and highly talented Chicago musicians.

Lyrics

Wastin' Time

Written By: Franco Campanella

Dark nights, sweet all rights, Came streaming threw the floor but came knocking down my door, This door of mine was dripped in sparkling wine, Stands between me and the rest of the girls, The blonde girl, Or the pretty brunette, But the one I want, Is the one I can’t get.

No matter what you do, You will never be my girl, I don’t want you too, be jealous of her I know the way girls get, The never quit, Callin’ my number wishin’ they had it, You better Pass me by, Cause your wastin’ time, wastin’ (x3), You’re wastin’ time

See me baby taking a look at you, With those eyes, I found, the sexiest blue, So lets hold hands take our time walk beside the city sky, We could make the perfect pair, If you were there, Lets make it real for you and me

No matter what you do, You will never be my girl, I don’t want you too, Be jealous of her I know the way girls get, They never quit’ Callin’ my number wishin’ they had it, You better Pass me by, Cause your wastin’ time, wastin’ (x3), You’re wastin’ time
Wastin’ (x8) You’re wastin’ time

No matter what you do, You will never be my girl, I don’t want you too, be jealous of her I know the way girls get, The never quit callin’ my number wishin’ they had it, You better Pass me by, Pass me by, Cause your wastin’ time, Wastin’ (x3), You’re wastin’ time

Party Boy

Written By: Franco Campanella

(V) Center of attention that will never change
It has always been this way
It’s a gift now who wouldn’t agree
Come on girl why don’t you give it to me
People see what they wanna see
And little do you know they are all jealous of me

(C) You call me a party boy
All I wanna do is get around
Girls are my specialty
I could never be tied down
If you think if you know, if I think I would know
That it’s true
Then how could I be in love with you

(V2) What’ll it take for you to stay
I don’t have to be this way
It’s a front, I’ll concede
Baby, what more do you need
Don’t make it seem so bad
Like I’m no good
Just turn this into something right tonight
I’ll make you feel like it should

(C)

(B) Party boy all I wanna do is get around (x3)

Let Go

Written By: Franco Campanella

(V1) It’s hard to understand when you don’t succeed
Livin’ your life wide open though the door is closed
A square in a circle trying to break free
But I won’t let go of it all

(C) Never let go no I’ll never let go
Cause you’re the one I’ve been waitin’ for
Never let go, No I’ll never let you go
I knew then and there that I would never let you go

(V2)
Then the lights burned red and you pulled in on me
In so many ways I’m stuck inside your head

For Love

Written By: Franco Campanella

No more hellos
No more how are yous
I don't wanta read your love, when I'm all alone
I miss the sheltered smiles of those pretty lips
Not the little letters from a phone
We can live with uncertainty
or crash through the open door
All this crying just holds ourselves back
so lost lost lost

Keep tryin' keep keep tryin' for love
Keep tryin' keep keep tryin' for L O V E Love

You spread your wings and fly away
From the shelter of this day
And I know that you are scared scared scared
time to let in the light, I'll show you the answer
Unlock your heart and hold me tight
we'll find the answer
Well guess what honey I got the key

Keep tryin' keep keep trying for love
Keep tryin' keep keep trying for L O V E Love

(Bridge)
Keep trying for love you see
We can do this just you and me
Imagine all the things we've ever done turned to one, one for love

Keep tryin' keep keep tryin' for love
Keep tryin' keep keep tryin' for L O V E Love

Be True

Written By: Franco Campanella

(V1)
I’ve been running in circles
I’ve been lost in your head
I’ve been feeling the moment but my hearts still in red
While I’m still in bed pretending this whole thing was just a dream
I cross the road of November skys and November eyes will see it through
To you and your disassembled mind

(C)
Modesty is dishonesty so be true true true
When I look into your eyes I feel the pressure of the water it’s floating it’s flowing on by
Don’t ask me why

(V2)
Keys of uncertainty will lead you a stray
Teach you not to bottle it up and throw your heart away
Hide in a corner locking down your heart will tear your soul apart
So put your body in front of me we’ll make it in serenity
We’ll do it in double time we’ll do it in double rhyme
Pretending this whole thing was just a dream

(C)

(Bridge)
Don’t ask me why (X3)

Mr. Perfect

Written By: Franco Campanella

(V1)
You told me you told me everything
About diamond rings and things before my time
I should have known you’d do this again
It’s just not like you to say your good byes

(C)
Ten seconds ago my whole life changed in a blink of an eye
Ten seconds ago my whole life changed in a blink of an eye
and I said
Why can we all just be
Mr. Perfect

(V2)
I can’t believe you told me
Would it be the same if I told you know
Well what do you think I’m a stupid boy
blinded by the good times when there’s few of those

(C)

(Bridge)
You got to learn
Theres no second chances when it comes to life
Oops I did it agains or pretends in life
Its real its real to me
To me (x10)

(C)

(Outro)
Mhmm it be so nice if we were two of a kind
I’d bet you’d like that
