Biography

Toronto's own rock n' roll misfit explosion band, Frankie Whyte & The Dead Idols, are upholding the tradition of big amps and even bigger rock shows. This power quartet may be young but they are hardly intimidated by the road ahead of them. Show by show, fan by fan, FW & DI are earning their stripes the old fashion way. By encouraging old school rock n' roll 'tude, the gang of rock fists grows thick and it grows across the country with Frankie Whyte heading the brigade.

With Duncan Coutts of Our Lady Peace as producer, Frankie Whyte and the Dead Idols created a slew of red hot recordings and have unleashed the first 5 tunes on an EP titled, "Hollywood Ending" under FortyBySixty Records. A road bent, rock n' roll band, FW & DI is goin' for gold and it's all in the name of rock.

Lyrics

Hollywood Ending

Written By: Frankie Whyte

Famous Last Words
From The Underdog
And Vampires Reaping The Boulevard
So The Undead, Who Will Rest My Soul
With Restless Bones, Dealing it's Last Heart

Rippers Comin' Round, The Count Is Sinking His Teeth
Cynic, Saint & Lush
We're Never What We Seem To Be

[Chorus]
Here's To The Hollywood Ending
Here's To It All Ending

Feels Like Midnight For Two Flies On A Wall
And Zombies Waltzing With Shadows
Fatal Attractions, From Some 50's Scene
Selling Out Just To Add To The Silver Screen

Rippers Comin' Round, The Count Is Sinkin' His Teeth
Cynic, Saint & Lush, We're Never What We Seem To Be

[Chorus]
Here's To The Hollywood Ending,
Here's To It All Ending

Kill The City Lights,
Where Ghosts Come Back To Life: Down in Hollywood,
It's My
My Hollywood Ending

(Solo)

[Chorus]

BlackOut

Written By: Frankie Whyte

I Was Trying To Find My Way Home
One Foot After The Other, Hit A Fork In The Road
As Far As I Can See, It's A Blackout Surrounding Me
I've Got This One Hand Over My Heart,
Gonna Get Lost And Cut What I Can Do Without
Crushing Nights With Chasing Street Lines Off Of Highway Five

Baby They're Just Afraid Of What We Can Change

[Chorus]
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
When The Lights Go Up, It's A Blackout

I've Seen The Lights Go Out On Third,
Long Enough To Watch The Island Bridges Burn
We Weren't Concerned With Ever Going Back
So Let Me In, I Gotta Know What It's Like
To Live And Love With Vital Signs
Gonna Find My Place Beneath The Crossfire
I'll Never Understand

Baby, Why They're Afraid Of What We Can Change

[Chorus]
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
When The Lights Go Up, It's A Blackout

(solo)

Baby, They're Just Afraid Of What We Can Change

[Chorus]
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
Looks Like Our Time Is Up, Time Is Up
When Our Lights Go Up, It's A Blackout

(repeat)

Casualty

Written By: Frankie Whyte and the Dead Idols

Got a black tongue wrapped around a sugar cane
I’m making amends with what I can’t taste
I’m waltzing with concrete in my veins
Done enough to know you better own what you say

If it turns you on it’ll have to be
An even trade so whatcha got for me

I’m just a casualty who’s been hurt, been burned
Everyone another lesson learned
A Casualty, not much apart from a blacklisted heart
And the hardest part
Is finding I’m just a Casualty

Shot up by my one and only
And it’s last call it count my blessings
You can drag me kicking and screaming
But I refuse, I won’t lose any part of me

If it turns you on, it’ll have to be
An even trade so what you got for me

I’m just a casualty who’s been hurt, been burned
Everyone another lesson learned
A Casualty, not much apart from a blacklisted heart
And the hardest part
Is finding I’m just a Casualty
