2006 dream logic - PLID (on iTunes)

2014 frank.ep - frank.

Previously a member of the on-hiatus band PLID, frank. moves from behind the keyboards and to the forefront as a solo artist. His influences include many old school synth pop acts such as Erasure, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and OMD. However, he is also fully entrenched in the modern synth pop scene, embracing music from electronic acts such as The Presets, Passion Pit, LCD Soundsystem, Gotye and imamiwhoami to name a few.

A native of Houston, TX, frank. started showing an interest in music and singing from a very young age. His love of electronic music was solidified when his uncle showed him a Casio VL-Tone which also coincided with the New Wave scene of the 80s which produced many of the synth pop bands that still influence frank. to this day. frank. had written many songs that for too long have been only heard to a select group of friends and the walls of his various bedrooms and in 2004 began working with friends on a project PLID which produced a self-released EP "fast machines" and an LP "dream logic".

PLID's time was short-lived due to internal strife and unexpected illness and after a few years of soul-searching, frank. began work on a solo iteration taking inspiration from the massive collection of more personal songs that were written prior to PLID. With the belief that a good song is a good song no matter when it was written, he has begun re-tooling some of his older songs to fit today's times, but also writing new material as well as the inspiration strikes.

frank. is not young, nor is he old. His goal is to bridge the gap between old school synth pop and newer electronica. frank. is openly gay and while this is never the primary focus of his music, it is something that does partially define him and makes him unique. As such, frank. feels that he can be an inspiration to the LGBT community as well as to the greater community at large.
