Hi my name is Frank. I am an eclectic songwriter with roots in many styles of music. Feel free to navigate to the audio link and listen to a few of my songs. Thank You For Listening...

Biography

My first instrument was drums. When I was just 4 years old I used to pull out anything I could find from my mother's kitchen that had a percussive sound and build what was a make shift drum set. My parents recognized my interest in music and bought me my first real set when I was in first grade. Rhythm was in my genes. My biological father, whom I have never met, was the percussionist for Carlos Santana. Drums became an obsession to me and when I was in the 5th grade I started playing in bands and musicians who were much older than me.

Around that time, I discovered the guitar and fell in love with that instrument. My life would never be the same. From then on, I spent my time on the guitar. In middle school, I started a band that won the D.C. Metro Talents Battle of The Bands competition. We wrote and performed an original song called "Something Special" and won 1st place out of around two hundred plus bands that entered the competition!

I later went on to play in several music projects. One project called Allana, for which I produced and wrote for in the mid 90’s, received a development deal from the Warner Brothers Alliance label. We worked with the late Country music legend, Rockabilly Hall of Famer, Big Al Downing.

Bands however, are something I am not presently pursuing. It is a tough road for often little reward. I am a songwriter & guitarist by nature and that is where I am concentrating my efforts and talents these days. In 2004 I was one of the winners in the CMT songwriting contest and am pursuing writing opportunities this has given me.

Lyrics

My Best Friend Calls Me Dad

Written By: Frank Quattrone © 2005

Verse
You came into this life
Born from my sweet wife
Thats when I found lifes greatest joy
Through smiles of a little boy
And now I'm lovin all my days
Learning your amazing ways
I wanna grow with you and be your friend too
Like one I’ve never had

Pre Chorus
But who’d imagine I’d be so glad
That My Best Friend Calls Me Dad Oh...

Chorus
Of all the acquaintances lost in the past
To all the relationships I’ve made fast
There’s no other friendship I’d rather have
Than knowing my best friend
Calls me dad
My best friend calls me dad

Verse
You’re the guy I want to see
Become a better man than me
Though I know you’ll take after your daddy
So I'll take the highest road
To as far as God can go
Until I’m slow and growing old
And the rest of the way, my best friend can take me
To places I’ve never known

Pre Chorus

Chorus

Bridge
And I’m so glad
Cause there’s nothing better
When a father and son
Can flow like water and be thick as blood
It all came together
The day I fell in love with your mama
It's simple yet amazing

Chorus

For The Good Life

For The Good Life
Words & Music: Frank Quattrone © 2005

INTRO Chorus
It's about high goals it's about your rights n' beatin' the odds
Beatin' the odds for the good life
For The Good Life

Verse
Not long ago people used to say I was wasting my time
Yea they used to talk about me
Living for the things that bring you freedom
Far beyond a secure job
They used to think I was crazy

Pre Chorus
But I know working hard is not as smart as working smarter
So I will set my mind on things that'll take me much farther

Chorus
It's about high goals it's about your rights n' beatin' the odds for the good life
It's about courage n' about faith n' beatin' the odds, For The Good Life
For The Good Life

Verse
Not long ago people used to say I was dreaming way too high
I guess they didn't believe me yea
When I said some day I'd make it far beyond those that fake it their whole lives
And now they wanna catch up to me

Pre Chorus
But I know working hard is not as smart as working smarter
So I will set my mind on things that'll take me much farther

Chorus
It's about high goals it's about your rights n' beatin' the odds for the good life
It's about courage n' about faith n' beatin' the odds, For The Good Life
For The Good Life

Bridge
It seems everybody's trying so hard to get a hold of the good life
Working three jobs, day and night
Paying bills left to right

But that ain't it! 'Cuz see the good life starts with an attitude
It's not something that you can just grab
First the good life's gotta grab you

Pre Chorus
But I know working hard is not as smart as working smarter
So I will set my mind on things that'll take me much farther

Losing You To Love You

Written By: Words & Music: Kim Wiseman & Frank Quattrone © 2005

Verse 1
I’ve been thinking maybe I’m wrong
I’ve been thinking maybe you’re right

Pre Chorus
And what I wouldn’t give to have you
For just another night
And what I wouldn’t give to hold you
To make the past feel alright

Chorus
Cuz it took losing you to love you
Losing you to love you
Losing you to find what I already had was so right

Verse
I’ve been thinking what we had was so strong
I’ve been hoping and praying and wishing there’s light after the dawn

Pre Chorus
And what I wouldn’t give to kiss you
After just a little fight
And what I wouldn’t give to prove to you
Baby I’m gona try with all my might

Chorus

Bridge
But I’ve made up my mind
That next time I won’t let love slip away

Chorus

End Verse
I’ve been thinking
Honey come on back home
It’s no good to be alone

Take Me Away

Take Me Away
Words and Music: Frank Quattrone © 2003

Verse
I look into your eyes
And search to see
Someone like me
Won’t you show me?
For the world I’ve known
Has come to be
A place to leave
Won’t you take me?

Chorus
Take me away
Take me away
Take my heart away
I look at your face
And with one strong embrace,
You can take me away
And I will be free

Verse
And now I’ve come to believe
In a love that’s growing stronger and restless longing to take all of me
And as I walk these streets
I imagine the start of forever whenever you come to take me
And I will be free

Chorus

Bridge
A light has shined upon me
To lead my to a place of peace
Awakening the desire of passion and fire
Quench my longing to be free
Feed me hope so I believe today
You’re coming to take me away

Chorus
