Freddy Hall is an acoustic/rock/folk heartfelt songwriter with emotive lyrics, and a passionate voice that complements his guitar playing. He eloquently addresses important topics in his song ranging from compassion for humanity, growing up, and love.

Biography

"If you hold love keep it in your hands" Freddy Hall sings under the glowing lights and recently silenced crowd at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts. His well crafted lyrics, dynamic voice, and heartfelt guitar playing have people hushing their friends, leaving drinks at the bar, and walking to the front of the stage to witness a new found talent.

Singer/songwriter Freddy Hall draws inspiration from legends such as Paul Simon, Damien Rice and Ben Folds. The Virginia native started playing guitar after a trip to New Orleans at age 9. He spent his sight seeing in and out of music stores begging his parents to buy him a guitar. His dad compromised and bought him a guitar pick. When they returned home, Freddy kept his pick by his side and would pretend to play guitar when alone in his room. He had caught the music bug.

At age 11, Freddy began writing music under the inspiration of his guitar teacher, and fellow singer/songwriter, at the Music and Arts Center in Virginia. He continued to develop his craft and quickly formed a band when he entered high school. Undecided on what career he wanted to pursue in college a teacher, of whom he holds great respect for, recommended he start thinking about taking music seriously.

In 2003 Freddy enrolled at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He was far from being underneath the radar. Well known for his outgoing personality, positive attitude, and talented songwriting, teachers and students gained a respect for his music. He was the winner of the Berklee Singer/Songwriter Showcase and Berklee Songwriter Showcase in both 2006 and 2007.

Freddy recently relocated to New York City with a degree and array of original songs. He is constantly performing and continuing his never-ending goal of connecting with more people through his music. He will be performing in various New York venues this month so keep your ears open for his next show.

Lyrics

As Long As You Hold On

Written By: Freddy Hall

VERSE 1
My son, you’ve grown a little tired of this new room, but you’ve got to wait a while 'til the doctor says that you’re strong.

Rest your apologetic eyes, and be sure you can’t regret the life that’s been lived.
Please forgive yourself

But know, just know

CHORUS
You won’t be alone tonight
As long as you hold on

VERSE 2
Your smile ends, I read you all the cards from your school friends, I try to build your heart from scratch,
Just a little too late.

Your weak hands tremble in the palms of my own and their stirring up the calm we were in.
I’m not ready to let go

But know, just know

CHORUS
You won’t be alone tonight
As long as you hold on

BRIDGE
Well the clouds start to move as they're welcoming you.
Arms are stretched out to guide you through

CHORUS
You won’t be alone tonight
As long as you hold on

VERSE 3
The sun fades, leaves a little light on your pale face.
Gives a little shine to the dim days coming through

A Young Heart

Written By: Freddy Hall

VERSE 1
He’s a handsome boy with a lot of charm
She’s a naive girl unfit for harm, it’s true
He’s three years out of school
She’s still bound to her parent’s rule
But Oh She loves him, and, yeah they’ll make it work

VERSE 2
He convinces her she’s beyond her age
And she doesn’t need home to keep her caged in
She wants to go but she shows her doubts
He doesn’t have time to play around
He says, little girls, man, they’ll never know

CHORUS
A young heart
Is ready for love
A young heart grows

VERSE 3
Guilt is a match and he’s the heat
And like wild fire she’s running free to him
Together now they’ve made a home
Where the Carolina waves nip their toes
Oh she loves it, Yeah it’s what she hoped

CHORUS
A young heart
Is ready for love
A young heart
Grows

BRIDGE
Youthful love is an empty house
Life will come and tear it down
His anxious feet are on the move
He met another girl who’s naive, too, and he goes

CHORUS
A young heart
Is ready for love
A young heart grows

She Went Wrong

Written By: Freddy Hall

VERSE 1
She looked through his eyes of icy blue
Her chill surprised his “I love you”
His breath collapsed he had nothing left to say

He rose up from his bended knee
Wiped the dirt then fled the scene
Guilt built and unflattering still in her

God save a spirit on it’s way down
God save a spirit on it’s way

CHORUS
Good times
Slowly gone bad
Hard climb
Lonely and sad
This heart crime is going on too long
Where dose he go, when love turned right,
And She went wrong?

VERSE 2
She wasn’t ready to commit her soul
She ran wild with the heart she stole
Free and gone like nothing changed at all

He was stuck in his unbearable gloom
Dim lights painted his hopeless room
Pale, he derailed because his future failed to be

God save a spirit on it’s way down
God save a spirit on it’s way

CHORUS
Good times
Slowly gone bad
Hard climb
Lonely and sad
This heart crime is going on too long
Where dose he go, when love turned right,
And She went wrong?

BRIDGE
He moved on in a timely fashion, he's over it and now he's laughing.
It's funny how things can change.
She’s hoping for her second chances
Life’s better with a partner to dance with
But she fumbled her only play
God save a spirit on it’s way
